Genealogy research...

Sometimes, I wish I had kept better records when I started my genealogy research a decade ago. Things that were so readily available and easy to find a decade ago are eluding me today...and it's driving me NUTS!

I've been trying to find out what ship my father's family came on when they came to the US.

Do you think I can find it?! No. I know they came from Bremen to New York and I thought it was in the late 1850s...I'll have to dig out my genealogy research to see if I kept any notes that were useful. Hrm.

I even tried looking at the other side of my family...to no avail either.

It's going to be one of those days.

  1. About 10 years ago I researched my family. The biggest thing I learned was that every piece of paper had conflicting info. Birth years were different, immigration dates were different. Everything was different than the stories I'd been told as a child. I like to think of it as revising history. Good luck to you.
