WIP Wed....wait, it's not Wednesday

So I missed WIP Wednesday yesterday. Little Man's trip to the hospital, being sick myself, and a bunch of other things that have come up prevented me from properly posting yesterday.

That and I didn't have anything to show.

But today, I can show you what I would have posted about yesterday, had I had the time and non-sickies :)

I'm still plugging away on my Lothlorien Hat but I haven't contacted the designer about posting photos yet. I'm sure she won't be averse to it but I should ask first. I've finished the first repeat of the pattern and I think I will probably have one more full repeat and a partial repeat before I get to the crown decreases. I'll probably put a lifeline in when I get through the second repeat to check the length to decide if I should do another full repeat plus the partial or if I should just do the partial.

I've also worked a little bit here and there on my Vanilla Socks but there probably won't be anything interesting until I get around to the heel flap and gusset decreases. I'm considering doing a different type of heel flap stitch pattern and a different kind of gusset decrease (I'm thinking either a double gusset heel or a single gusset heel). We'll see...I'm not quite that far yet so it's not anything I need to worry about at this point.

The thing I want to show you, though, are my Honey Badger Don't Give a Shit Socks!

Currently, I'm almost finished with the Honey Badger Cuff portion...I have two rows left of that and then I'll be on to the leg portion.

Pattern: Honey Badger by IrishGirlieKnits (Carrie Sullivan)
Needles: Kollage Square DPNs, US #1
Yarn: Cascade Yarns Heritage Solids & Quatros in Italian Plum (the photo isn't quite representative of the color - it's a darker plum purple, so dark it's almost black)
Size: Medium...I think...I haven't tried them on yet so there's still a possibility that I may frog and re-do them in a larger size (but I doubt it).
Modifications: None yet...I'm pondering how I want to do the gussets...(like above)

Anyway, that's all I know about my knitting...I think. Oh, and all my handspun has been washed, hung, and is now dry and hanked. Funnily enough, I have two hanks of the superwash merino (the purple that doesn't look purple)...and one soaked longer than the other one so it lost more of it's color so it's not quite as purple. I think if I make anything with both of them, I'm going to have to alternate the colors. Or over-dye them later. We'll see.

Randomly, if anyone wants to buy a condo, mine is going up for sale on Monday.......thought I'd share :)

  3. The double gusset heel looks very interesting, have you ever made a pair of socks with that type of heel? Your Honey Badger's are progressing very well and color looks great in the picture and probably even better in person. I know it can be difficult in photos to get the true color sometimes due to the lighting (especially so indoors during the winter).
