Brief 215: FO Friday

It's Friday and that means it's time for another installment of FO Friday. But, if you've been keeping up with me (and I know there are actually some of you that have been), you'll know that I really haven't finished anything...

I did state (here) that I was going to show you something that needed some love in order to be shown again...and that's kind of true. It did need some love but I photographed it before said love occurred. Oh well. I'm going to show it to you anyway...

I told you I had a sister...brother...other half...whatever. I have one.

Pattern: Baby Traveling Vines Socks (not yet available)
Yarn: Zitron Trekking XXL in 404 Blue Bri
Needles: US #1 Blackthorn DPNs
Size: Baby
Modifications: None...it's my pattern...I think that when I make these again, the foot section is going to be longer because I'm not entirely sure these are baby-sized (I'm going to have to do some research).
Timeframe: started September 18, 2012; finished February 17, 2012

These have been finished for awhile, obviously, but I had neglected to photograph the pair and you all had to take my word for it that there were actually two socks and they did actually make a pair. I've since photographed them (see above) and I soaked the second sock and it's currently drying in the bathroom.

They ended up being good fraternal twins. I expected that, actually. I'm working on writing the pattern for these but, like I say, I need to some more research into sizing in order to determine the foot length.

That's all I have for FO Friday. Visit Tami's Blog for more FO Friday love :)

In other random events and news, Little Man has been quite the pain lately (for about the last two weeks, actually). He's been refusing to sleep at night. I mean, he'll go down fine between 8:15-8:45pm but then he'll wake up somewhere around midnight, then again around 5:30am, and then we're up for the day between 7:30am-8:45am. Because of his metabolic disorder, he's only allowed to go 10 hours at night so if I put him down at 8:30am, I have to wake him up to feed him no later than 6:30am. He's been doing it all for me.

Wednesday night was particularly rough. He went to bed around 8:30pm. He woke up at midnight; I changed him, fed him, and put him back to bed (I got to sleep around 12:45am). He woke up at 2am and I repeated the process (except changing - he was dry; I got to sleep around 2:30am). He woke up at 3:30am. I repeated the full process again. I hadn't even gone back to sleep when he was up at 4:15am. I tried to let him cry it out but he only got louder and more upset. So, we finally brought him into bed with us and he calmed down around 5:30am.....and was wide awake at 7am. It was one of the most awful nights we've had with him since he was born.

We're not sure what's going on with him. He's not sick, he's getting picky about food but still eating plenty, and there are no major milestones coming up as he walks, runs, jumps, and is quite a babbler. The only thing I can think of is that he's going through a major growth spurt and that his teeth are still bothering him.

Husband took him out Thursday morning so I could get some sleep. They went to the car wash where Little Man was, apparently, having a squawking contest with the parrots they have. After that, they went to the Madison Childrens' Museum and then to visit some of Husband's former coworkers (the two ladies in the office - they adore Little Man and have been missing him like crazy). Little Man woke me up around 11:40am. And then he didn't want to nap. *sigh*

So, it's been rough around here. No one is getting anything done, especially this Mama...and that includes knitting.

Oh well.

How do I work this again? And what's in here?

Thanks for the help, Daddy...but what is this again?

Oh, iced tea? I like iced tea.

I should be back on Sunday with a Self-Imposed Year of Projects update...I hope...we'll see.

  5. I'm so sorry you're little man has been having sleep problems :( I hope it's just a growth spurt and he moves through it quickly. Wishing you more sleep!

My little dude spent the weekend at Grandma's and woke up all throughout the night. I'm fearing this evening as he gets used to being back in his own crib again.

  6. Cute baby socks; I could totally see baby chubbs fillin' them up.

Maybe Little Man is having a growth spurt? Hugs to you; interrupted sleep sucks.
