FO Friday :)

Happy Friday!

I finished something and I should share.

If you don't remember, on my Self-Imposed Year of Projects one of the things I have listed is a section labeled "Designs." Also, last week, you may have noticed that I had a dishcloth listed as a WIP.

Well.....I finished it (not that it was difficult or overly-time consuming).

Woven Rib Dishcloth (link to Project Page)

Pattern: Woven Rib Dishcloth by ME (no, the pattern hasn't been released yet)
Time Frame: started February 8, 2013; finished February 11, 2013
Yarn: Lion Brand Cotton Ease in Maize - approximately 62 yds.
Needles: US #8/5 mm
Size: Dishcloth sized
Modifications: From the original design, I added one more pattern repeat to make it more square (something that I wish I had done with the first one) and I also used larger needles.

This pattern isn't particularly difficult or time consuming and I don't know that I'm going to make any more of this particular pattern right now. I suspect that once I have done it a couple more times (or have had test knitters do it), I'll publish it as a free pattern. Like I said, it's nothing special. But, it is mine and for that, I am proud of myself :)

Anyway, things continue to get more and more interesting around here. The closing on my grandparents' house in Wisconsin is today. The closing on the house we're buying is next Friday. In the meantime, we need to finish packing up the apartment. I'm not looking forward to actually doing it but it needs to get done (for obvious reasons). I've been packing "areas" here and there. On Tuesday I picked up all the toys in the living room and packed them (well, 98% of them - Little Man needs a couple to play with yet). On Wednesday, I packed up the dog's stuff in the entry closet (dog treats, medication, etc.). I've just been packing up some things that I can pack while Little Man is still running around (which he does quite a bit). It's not the easiest or best way to pack but, you know, it kind of works.

Other than packing and knitting, there isn't much going on around here. I don't know how there possibly could be more going on!

I hope you've all had a lovely week. For more FO Friday fun, visit Tami :) I'll be back on Sunday for my Self-Imposed Year of Projects update!

PS - I also finished my Icarus Shawl but it won't get on the blocking mats until after we move...so it's off the needles but it's not blocked. Once it's blocked, I'll post about it :)
