Y2: Self-Imposed Year of Projects - Update #12

Oops. I forgot that it was the weekend and that I needed to write my post. Sorry. There's a lot going on around here lately and I've barely had time to go to the bathroom alone, much less knit or blog. ::sigh::

Anyway....

Like I said, we've had a lot of seemingly random things going on this week.

First of all, I still haven't found my rings. I'm 98% sure they're around here somewhere...but I have no memory of where I packed them, though it must have been good. The intent was that I packed them wherever so I didn't lose them. Hrm. I expect we're going to find them in the weirdest place and we're going to wodner how the hell they got there. Husband actually came home early on Monday because I was freaking out about it so much. I've calmed down some but it's still stressing me out and keeping me awake at night.

We had friends visit this week (Tuesday). I got a teensy bit of knitting done but the day was spent mostly chasing the boys around, trying to keep Puppy off the youngest boy, and then not much else happened that day.

On Wednesday, I visited with a cousin of mine from Wisconsin. She, her husband, and their younger son came out to San Francisco because the son had said he had never done anything for spring break (he's 22 and graduating in May - with a job lined up and everything). So, the three of them came out and played tourist for a week. They didn't know we were living out here and we didn't know they were visiting until I caught something her husband had posted on Facebook about being at Haight & Ashbury (the row houses that make San Francisco famous). So, I called and we arranged to spend some time together on Wednesday.

Thursday, I finally went to the eye doctor because I was in desperate need of new contacts (which I got). We also spent time unpacking and cleaning.

Friday, Little Man and I went to Alameda for Kid-Friendly Mama Knitting...not that I got a lot of knitting done. Little Man decided he wanted to try the potty while we were there. He went up into their bathroom, dropped trow, sat on their potty, and peed........with his diaper still on. Silly boy. He was so proud of himself, though (and, truthfully, I was proud of him, too).

By the time yesterday came around, I was exhausted and knitting just wasn't looking like something I'd get to do. And I didn't. We spent yesterday unpacking, moving things around, and running all over (we went to Los Altos - about 20 minutes south, to go to Walmart and the beer store).

I'm hoping this week brings a bit more sanity but.....we all know that won't happen. So, I hope that it's, at least, a good week, not just for me and our house but for all of you as well.

Oh, and ring-finding mojo would be grand :)

  2. Sorry to hear about your rings, not something as simple as in your jewelry box? In a zip lock bag in your drawers like people do when leave town for jewelry not going with them? I can see why you've not gotten any knitting done. Wow...How nice you got to connect with family. We've been to San Francisco a few years ago for a few days, but I'm clueless about the houses you're talking about. Must put it on the list, as we do hope to return ......sometime.

  3. Sounds like you had a manic week and I do hope this week is a lot calmer with lots of rind finding mojo and I'll throw in a dash of knitting time as well.

  4. Dang girl. Your schedule is always hopping with something. I'm sorry you haven't found your rings yet. I would be bothered by that also. Little Man is so funny. He's a clever one. He's almost ready to get rid of that diaper.

    1. I'm hoping that this week is not quite so crazy...but I know it will be because we have friends visiting for Easter. ::sigh::

  5. Reminds me of a frantic night I spent just before flying out to Africa, having put the passports in a "Safe Place" and then being unable to find them. Fortunately Gavin found them an hour later and we were able to get a couple of hours of sleep before heading to the airport :)

    Lots of Ring-finding MOJO!

  6. Did you put them in a sock maybe? My daughter used to do that. I'll say a little prayer that they "appear"....it was probably just leprechauns playing with you over St. Patrick's Day....they'll slack off now and the rings will turn up as if by magic!
I like so many of your projects I keep "faving and saving"! I really like the Halloween washcloths...what a great gift item and keeper too. Plus, the Viking bag but I've not done cables yet but there's always a first for everything. Take care and I hope you breeze and breathe right through your week!

  7. Oh, I do think the rings will turn up! I can totally understand your feelings about them. I am constantly losing things, no matter how much I try to organize my life.

    1. I try to be organized and I'm not horrible at it once I get it organized...but getting to that point is what seems to take forever.

  8. I find it hard to find time to knit some weeks too. Especially when I'm chasing little ones. Don't forget to breathe. :) Glad your little guy tried the potty that's so exciting!!!!

  9. Yeah it's hard to get much knitting done with these crazy boys. Knitting? What knitting? The only reason I've been able to get so much done is that the husbeast's been home all month. What am I going to do when he goes back to work?
