FO Friday :)

It's been awhile since I've properly participated in a FO Friday but today, I can participate :)

Pattern: Susan's Hat (V2) by ME :)
Time Frame: started November 3, 2013; finished November 10, 2013
Yarn: Malabrigo Chunky - a little over one skein
Needles: US #11
Size: Adult
Modifications: None. It's my pattern.
Thoughts: Next time, do a full proper swatch (the kind that you wash and let fully dry)...I was trying to figure out how much yarn I needed for the pattern, I didn't bother to actually swatch. And....let's just say that Malabrigo Chunky grows quite a bit. See, in the photos above, it was just a teensy bit too long and fit like a beanie should fit. And then I washed it, put it flat to dry, and tried it on when it was dry. It's now bordering on being a semi-slouchy beanie and the brim is a bit too loose. ::sigh:: All I wanted to do was figure out how much yarn I was going to need. Don't get me wrong, the hat will be used but it's not the way I envisioned it. Oh well. I have several skeins to get it right.

Little Man also modeled for me...and it's waaaaaaaaaay too big for him.

I might make this into a bag of some sort. Or something. I don't know. Anyone have any ideas?

  1. You could always wet it and throw it in the dryer a bit....it shouldn't felt unless agitated with other clothing...I had to do that for a hat that grew waaay too big! And the one I just finished is slightly big, so may do it again...
