Well........crap.

I've hit a snag in my little blogging world and it involves Ravelry and a firewall.

In case you haven't figured it out, we live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Husband works for an internet security company. Up until recently, we didn't have a firewall because we had a zillion other ways to keep hackers out. But, Husband decided that we needed a firewall, partly because we probably should and partly because we live in a high-target area (what with all the insanity that is Silicon Valley).

Upon the installment and use of the firewall, I have lost the ability to use Ravelry on anything connected to our Wi-Fi. This includes (but is not limited to): my laptop and my iPad. It also includes my phone if it's connected to the Wi-Fi. If I turn the Wi-Fi off on my phone, I can get to Ravelry (and it's a total pain in the ass to read any webpage on my phone).

What does this have to do with anything, Renee? Get to the damn point, Renee.

The point is that because I can't get at the web addresses from Ravelry, some links are either not going to be in working order or missing entirely. I may have figured out a way around it but I'm not crazy about it (blogging from my phone).

So, we'll see what happens. It's going to be interesting for awhile until we can get this figured out.

    1. Tell me about it. He made a few twerks to the firewall and Ravelry seems to be working again :)

    1. It's pretty awful to not have Ravelry in my life. I think we're okay now, though.

  3. Oh, I'd be stealing some wi-fi from the neighbors. Ha. I don't think I could stand the symptoms of withdrawal of an internet without ravelry.
