Y3: Self-Imposed Year of Projects - Update #1

Happy January! Happy New Year! And Happy Birthday to ME (almost - it's on Tuesday)!

Last Sunday, hopefully, my wrap-up for my Second Self-Imposed Year of Projects should have posted...hopefully. It was an interesting year and that's all I'm going to say about it because you can go back and read about it :)

But, it's a new year and it's time for new plans and new things and all sorts of new new new! But! (Yes, there's a "but" in here).....BUT! With all the new things, there comes some "old" things, as well.

I declare 2014 THE YEAR OF THE STASH! I have hopes that I will be able to knit from my stash this year. I have far too much yarn and if I don't buckle down and start working from my stash, it's going to multiply and outgrow it's closet (why yes, I have a closet devoted almost entirely to my stash - yarn and spinning fiber and a few other things like project bags and kits). So, knitting from stash! New projects! But knitting from stash!

Also, because I'm trying to reduce my stash, I've gone on a yarn diet again...we'll see how long it lasts. There are exceptions for things like Stitches West and Interweave Knitting Lab and things like that but, generally speaking, I'm not going to shop my pants off at the yarn shops for awhile. ::sigh:: I do so love them, though. Book/magazine acquisition does not count, however. I can still pick those up as I see fit :)

But, let's get on to the new lists! We all want to know what insanity I have planned...and it is insane (would you expect less from me?). So, while I intend to work from my stash, I decided that I would need more choices. I realize that I will not come even remotely close to finishing everything on these lists but I need options. Anyway, let's get on with it already!

Why yes, I have noticed that the lists are quite long...but I need choices and I already don't beat myself up over not finishing everything. I know I'm not going to finish everything but I need to have a bit more focus...and my Ravelry queue is a bit out of control and doesn't allow me much in the way of focus because I want to KNIT ALL THE THINGS. Sooooo, this is kind of like a mini Ravelry queue. And that works for me.

Anyway, I should maybe have something more substantial next week. We shall see what the day brings us :)

  2. With your stash, you could open up a store. Good for you on this goal. Trying to do that myself as well.

  3. I love it! How many sock bags did you make? I keep meaning to do something similar, but then something shiny comes along, and we all know how that ends...
