FO Friday: Baby Sweater Edition (Pt. II)

Happy Friday, lovely readers!

I know, I'm shocked, too. Two FO Fridays in a row? Is something amiss? Is something going on? What's going on?!

But, it's true. Two FO Fridays in a row. And, if you can't tell from the title, today's FO Friday is also a Baby Sweater Edition. If you've been following me for my Self-Imposed Year of Projects, you've probably already guessed what FO I have today :)

Baby Surprise Jacket (link to Project Page)

Pattern: Baby Surprise Jacket by Elizabeth Zimmermann (I used the A-B-C-SJ pattern booklet from Schoolhouse Press)
Time Frame: started May 27, 2013; finished February 2, 2014
Yarn: Araucania Ruca Solid in Periwinkle (102) - unsure of how much
Needles: US #6 (4 mm) 32" circulars...I think...
Size: Original size
Modifications: None - did all increases with a M1L since the pattern didn't exactly specify.
Thoughts: This pattern is all sorts of jiggery-pokery and magic and it's adorable. I think if I make it again, I'll use different yarn. This yarn is incredibly splitty and slick...and not machine washable. But it feels lovely...so I'm going with it. Also, I don't like the button holes being on both sides. If I had been using my brain, I would have only put them on one side. Also, I'm surprised my seams turned out as well as they did...

Here are a couple more photos...

Pre-seaming/weaving of ends

Awesome seam!

I hope you're all having a lovely Friday. I'll link up with Tami as soon as I can (if I can)!

  1. It's very neat how this baby jacket came out. The construction is cool. You did a great job.
