FO Friday: Stormageddon Edition

Happy Friday!

Imagine my surprise when I had a very unexpected FO for this week's FO Friday.

Presenting my latest FO: Stormageddon!

George Eugene decided he didn't want to wait anymore and this past Tuesday morning, my water broke at 37 weeks. I didn't know that's what happened. I had a full day planned! Husband was going to take Little Man to work with him and I had things to do...laundry, dishes, cleaning. Yeah, none of that happened.

Initially, my water broke at 4am but I just thought I had lost bladder control. So I went back to sleep. After they left for San Francisco, I started laundry, decided to dye my hair, and once I was out of the shower, I was walking from the bathroom to the closet to get socks when I had a big WHOOSH. A call to my OB later and Husband was on his way home from work to take me to the hospital. A couple tests and monitors later, around 3pm, we were told that yes, my water had broken and we were having a baby today.

So, this little stinker came via c-section at 5:04pm on Tuesday, September 2, 2014. He came out screaming his fool head off and didn't stop until he was swaddled.

He weighed 6 lbs, 9.6 oz and was 18.5" long. He looks almost exactly like Little Man did but he's a tiny little peanut. Little Man was long and skinny. This guy is just tiny all around.

Unfortunately, he does have a bit of jaundice so last night, this was his environment:

He wasn't exactly happy at that point but he did well with the supplementation.

We're supposed to go home from the hospital tomorrow. Just in time for my Sunday update :)

I hope you're all having a lovely Friday :)

  1. Oh my, CONGRATULATIONS! How precious! My first was 3.5 wks. early and was perfect, just everything in miniature (5 lbs. 12 oz.) Small babies stay small longer, which I loved.

If you're planning to breastfeed, don't let the jaundice dissuade you. Or the nurses. Or the doctors. Ask for a lactation specialist and she will help you immensely.

Enjoy this special time - it doesn't last long. Such a happy post! YEAH!

    1. Everyone is encouraging the breast feeding (California...). I'm trying and it's okay so here's to hoping.
