1. Dragon's Egg Socks: started September 2, 2013

6. Little Man's Hat: started July 8, 2015
7. Bunny: started September 8, 2015

I've not spent much time knitting this week. I worked a couple rows on my Pacific Shawl, which doesn't look much different. I also plowed through the ribbing section on the second Dragon's Egg Sock. I needed to look at the first one to see if I knit through the back loop before I could move along. Turns out I didn't and I knit the twelve rows of ribbing and that was it. I also got through the cuff on the second Fire Sock, which is a 3x2 ribbing (through the back loop). Other than that amount of knitting, I also pulled Viktor out for some spinning. However, I'm out of rolags so I'm going to get some more ready. Oh well. At least I got some spinning in this week...

::sigh:: Moving along..........

In our "real" life, there hasn't been much happening around here. Little Man will be on fall break for the next two weeks and, as a result, we're playing temporary home to some of his classroom pets, specifically a 15 gallon aquarium with eight stick bugs. They're pretty easy to handle but I still worry that they're going to die or something. We have to give them new leaves every couple days, spray with water, and other than that, they should be fine. We've taken a couple out for scuttling. For bugs, they're kind of cute.

Stormageddon has finally picked up a couple new things this week. Specifically, he's learned to sign "milk" and say "nigh-nigh" when it's time for bed as well as wave bye to people. We also discovered that he knows how to drink out of a straw and will use his sippy cup if he wants to...and he likes iced tea.

And then there's that kid......he's just a goofball. These are some of the things he was up to this week...

He found this cute little snail on our walk home from school one day...and decided to bring him home. We put him by our lemon tree. Where he ended up.....no idea.

This is the front and back of a letter he wrote to Adam & Jamie (as in Mythbusters). He even signed it with his name.

And a sleepy Stormageddon. Love this boy.

Anyway, I hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

  1. You are such a great mama open to bringing home the class pets of stink bugs. Oh my! I had a lot of families that didn't want to bring home the hamster because it's a rodent.

    1. Not stink bugs....stick bugs. They remind me of what I imagine a bowtruckle would look like :)

  2. Ah, the spinning sounds great and it sounds as though you are getting on nicely with your socks.

  3. Enjoy fall break with the stick bugs (good thing they're not stink bugs - lol). That snail's shell is beautiful. What a great picture.

    I clicked on some of your links above, and I want to say I love the Drip Drip Drop socks. They're pretty and look fun to wear, too. ;^) If I knew how to knit socks I fear I would spend all my non-knitting time staring at my feet and admiring my creations. ;^) What a great skill to have. Everybody needs socks.

  4. Oh dear, good luck with the bugs. I brought the class turtle home over Christmas one year and we were out shopping on Boxing Day for a replacement one... it was really bad news. And then we couldn't agree on whether the new one was a good match for the old one. High drama!

    Lovely pictures of the boys as usual!

  5. Love the bugs, but then I've children who like Little Man find them and bring them home for me to do I'm never quite sure what but finding them a temporary home in the yard seems to work, fascinated about the stick bugs, our childrens classes don't have class pets but then most houses here would have several pets already of their own, it wouldn't be uncommon. Love the letter to the Mythbusters, what a cool kid! Ruth.
