I have finished up the last and final Pussy Hat. I literally Kitchenered the top closed last night. So, it hasn't been washed (but there are several that need washing anyway)...but it's done! This one has a 1x2 rib for the brim. So, all the hats have been slightly different, which helped me not lose my mind. But, enough about that...

Most everything has been ignored this week since I was concentrating on finishing up the last hat....but I did bring the wheel down for some spinning time on Wednesday. Unfortunately (fortunately?) Stormageddon has taken a very keen interest in my wheel. Last year, I spun every day during Tour de Fleece (TdF) and he maybe tried to get into the wheel once. I had my wheel down on Wednesday and he kept grabbing the Scotch tension band (well, he let it slide through his hand as I spun), and he went behind the wheel and grabbed onto the ball & socket bars that connect the wheel to the treadles. He didn't make a move for my flyer, but if he had, I don't know that he'd ever do it again. I didn't get a lot spun, maybe 3/4 oz, but it was more than I've spun in awhile.

In addition to that.....yeah, nothing. Just spinning and the hat. Now that the hat is done, I might get around to some of these other WIPs. Or not.

This week has been very......trying. I guess that's the best word. Stormageddon still isn't sleeping through the night. He's wound up in our bed more than once for at least part of the night, which I'm okay with as long as he doesn't kick me out of the bed. I was so over it on Thursday, however. He came into our room at 4:30am, whimpering and generally being grumpy. I tried to get him back to sleep for a half hour and finally just brought him to our bed, where he continued to whimper. I didn't get back to sleep. He didn't stop whimpering until after I was at my 9am doctor appointment and he had also begun to futz with his ear...and as a result, I took him to his pediatrician. As it turns out, Stormageddon has another ear infection. Because this is his fifth one since the beginning of the "season" (which was last August), he now gets to make a trip to see the otorhinolaryngologist (translation: ear, nose, & throat doctor) and he's probably going to wind up getting ear tubes like Little Man. I'm fine with that and, in fact, I'd prefer we get it taken care of now instead of when he's older.

Also on Thursday, I had the conference with Little Man's teacher. The short version is that she doesn't necessarily see the hitting as an "issue" that needs to be "dealt with." Yes, it happened but it's not a recurring issue and she doesn't think he has a mean bone in his body (which is true - he's a very sweet and loving boy most of the time). However, she said if she hadn't had the conference regarding the hitting, she would have requested one anyway because Little Man is behind in reading. I suspected it might be an issue and I did tell her that at the beginning of the school year. He likes reading to me and he works really hard but sitting him down so I can read to him is worse than pulling molars.

Other than Thursday, it's been a pretty benign week around here. Just the usual things: going to the gym, doing laundry, trying to find time for myself, blah blah blah. Oh, and Puppy's birthday was this past week. He's now 6 years old. There's six months' difference between Little Man and Puppy. We got Puppy when he was about two months old, meaning Little Man was about eight months old at the time. He's still as nuts now as he's always been.

Husband and Little Man are off camping this weekend. They should be back sometime later today.

Again, no photos of Little Man this week. Maybe next week....

Stormageddon fell asleep in the stroller on Wednesday. This was before we found out he was sick but he was already grumpy and tired by this point.

And this was Thursday after we found out he was sick. He fell asleep on our bedroom floor, woke up and climbed up by me and fell asleep again.....and then he woke up and climbed onto me, where he stayed for at least 45 minutes.

Of course by the time Friday rolled around, he was felling much better. He and I went out for breakfast on Friday. I tried to take a "normal" photo of him with my phone but he wouldn't cooperate. I turned on the selfie mode and he posed perfectly. Booger.

Anyway, I hope you're all having a lovely weekend :)

  1. Oh man, interrupted sleep is not fun. I'm glad the teacher sees the brightness in Little Man. Get some rest, girl.
