14. Gamer Bag: started September 28, 2017

I worked a bit here and there on a couple projects this week.

I finished up the knitting on Boo-Yah this week. It's still lacking a face so I've not decided if it's a "he" or  a "she" and, honestly, I'll probably let Little Man decide once the face is on.

I also worked on the Gamer Bag. Right now, I'm just working in the round until I decide it's long enough and then....I guess I'm going to see how things go? I have a couple ideas for the top of the bag but I'll see when I get that far. I got through the heel flap on the Vanillaish Rainbow Sock so now I need to do the heel turn, pick up stitches, and continue down the foot. We'll see how that goes.

I also did a row or two on the baby blanket but since it's just garter stitch back and forth there's not much to see. I did get into the second skein, which is always exciting.

The last few days have been busy (when aren't they?!). Little Man was on half-days all this week, the book fair was going on at school, I had a meeting to go to, and life just continued to happen as it always does.

First, our washer decided to start being a pain in the ass again. Same error code as a year ago, same issue, and we're not sure what we're going to do. Tinkering with it eventually kind of fixed the issue to the point that we got another year out of it....but here we are, a year later, and it's doing it again.

Second, we got an estimate on the broken windows from a local place. It's half of what I expected and about what Husband expected...so we'll be getting the windows fixed. We also had to replace the screen in the sliding glass door, which isn't terribly difficult if you have the right tools...just annoying.

I didn't take a lot of photos this week because there were just too many random things happening. I did get these, however:

Little Man has really been into Luigi's Mansion on the DS this week and wanted to make a pair of suspenders. So, this was the end result (the hat is from a Mario/Luigi jammy set).

On Friday afternoon, Little Man had a make-up swimming lesson (for this coming Thursday's lesson - as we'll be gone). I caught these two goofing off in the back seat after I parked the car. Silly boys.

Also, Lambtown happened this weekend and I may or may not have bought this fleece. Okay, I totally bought it for less than $30. It came from a ram named Phoenix and he was thus named because he was born dead. No heartbeat, no pupil reaction, nothing...dead lamb. And then he wasn't. He's 1/2 Shetland, 3/8 Lincoln, and 1/8 Wenslydale. There is nothing else like him. And I had to have it. But, it's currently not at home as I took it to Morro Fleece Works for processing (washing, carding, and processing into pin roving). Sooooo, I'll get it at some point. There will be more about that after I get back from Wisconsin.

We're leaving on Tuesday for Wisconsin and I may or may not get a chance to update next Sunday. We'll see how things go.

I hope you've had a lovely week :)

  1. A fleece! That's exciting! And what a great story about the ram.

I was totally hooked on Mario for a while many decades ago. The suspenders are hilarious!!!

  2. Well, to show my ignorance, I wouldn't have thought there was enough hair on a baby ram to shear. I'm curious to read your review of it after it is processed - and maybe knitted with. Always learning something here...

  3. Wow. What a story about your fleece. That HAS to be knit into something equally spectacular.

  4. What a great story about the lamb. I would have bought it too, just because of the story and I don't spin LOL. Have a great trip to WI. It's starting to cool off up there!
