I think the only thing I've worked on since the wedding last weekend was the Sockhead hat. I've finished up the ribbing and I'm just knitting around and around and around until it's long enough.

I took this photo on Tuesday during Stormageddon's swimming lesson. I'm further along than this, obviously. I think the ribbing ended up around 3" and I'm almost to 6" now. Just mindless knitting from now until I do the crown decreases.

I'm at the point where I think I'm ready to do the heel flap for the Abracadabra Socks, also. I'm not fully decided but I think that's where I'm at. Maybe.

This week was somewhat eventful.

We woke up Monday morning to a bit of rain. This is what my WTForecast App told me. I don't think the "again" is correct as it hasn't rained since....well, it's been awhile. But we had some rain.

On Tuesday prevening, the Cub Scouts Pack had a hike at one of the local parks.

I was less than amused by the view. It was uphill and it was brutal for me. I'm not used to hiking and I was huffing and puffing worse than the wolf the entire way. But, the view was nice.

Little Man was, of course, cold. We weren't quite prepared to go. It was supposed to start at 6pm and we were literally leaving the house at 5:58pm. Oops. But, we made it. They hadn't even left for the hike yet.

We found this beetle along the way. He was almost as big as my thumb. No idea what kind but it was big.

This was the end of the hike. That hill behind me...that's what we climbed. It was about 2 miles overall. And going down was easier, of course.

I had a little breakfast date with Stormageddon on Wednesday morning. And that afternoon, I had a late lunch date with both Stormageddon and Little Man.

His school does a thing called "Dinner Night Out," where a local restaurant will donate a percentage of profits from all the flyers that are brought in for a particular school. So, we tried a new place up the road from us. The lemonade was fabulous but I wasn't a huge fan of most of the food. But that's fine. We tried it.

Thursday was Little Man's last day of school for a couple weeks. He has fall break until the 22nd. So, it was just some swimming lessons and that was it (for him). Stormageddon, on the other hand, finally had his 4 year well-visit with his (new) pediatrician. He's still big for his age but not as big as Little Man was at the same age. It's all fine.

Friday we spent the day at a group playdate.

There's a little beach, a playground, and a wide open field. The only problem with the water is that it's contaminated by geese (poop and feathers mostly, but the actual birds as well). The boys had fun, at any rate.

Yesterday was spent cleaning as my in-laws came into town (which is why I'm late in posting today).

Oh, and we had a lunch date at the hot dog place in town.

I hope you've had a lovely week and weekend!

  3. What a hill. I've walked up Union Street hills and I almost died. And wow, an evening hike? That's hardcore. I love the little jams some places have too! I actually take some to bring home, LOL.
