I haven't done a lot of knitting this past week. I think most of the work I did was on the Sockhead and the Campfire Socks. I haven't measured my Sockhead in awhile but it's probably getting close to the point where I can start thinking about the crown decreases. Maybe. And the Campfire Socks just grew a few rounds.

Nothing terribly exciting.

This week has been......well, it's been a week. It's been a rough week, as far as my own personal mental health goes. Slogging along, things happening, life going on, as it does.

The little caterpillars are coming back. We're not sure if the butterfly above is what they turn into but there were plenty of both this week.

We have four pumpkins in our house. On Wednesday, Little Man asked if he could paint his pumpkin. So, I dug out my acrylic paints and let him paint his pumpkin. Of course, we couldn't leave out Stormageddon. I was kind of surprised that he wanted to paint at all. He's more of a physical play kind of kid. He's not into writing or drawing or coloring....but he wanted to do what big brother did and he had lots of fun.

In addition to that, Little Man wanted some time on his bike. He's still got training wheels on but he's working at it.

I also caught a photo of what I have lovingly named one of the neighborhood kitties: Grumpy Ginger Kitty.

He just looks grumpy. And he's feral so he won't come to you. There are some of them that have homes and will come out for pets but this one is truly feral.

On Thursday night, instead of going to swimming lessons, Little Man and I went to the Winchester Mystery House for their Candlelight Tour, which is done at night. In the dark.

They had a little midway set up on the grounds. After our tour, we played some games, won some prizes, and called it good.

He gave the smaller of the two to Stormageddon when we got home.

This is the front of the house. We've done the regular tour but this one was less "tour" and more "Halloween fun." Little Man was scared but he did enjoy it. Of course, he's been sleeping with a nightlight on since......I can't say I blame him. You'd turn and see someone just standing there, sometimes looming entirely in the dark, sometimes just...there. There was an instance where we came up some stairs, turned and there's a hallway to the right and a man was walking toward you with a candle. If you acknowledged him, he'd start cackling.

Yes, he's in a coffin.

By the time Friday came around, I was so over this week. But, we had work to do because yesterday, we helped host a Halloween party (for adults)......so there was cooking to do and a few other things. But all was well.

I hope you've had a lovely weekend and week :) I need to swing in for a Stash post one of these Saturdays, also...oops.

  3. I hear you about the mental health struggles. One foot in front of the other, right? Your pictures are wonderful and you certainly know how to do Halloween with your boys. I love the pumpkin! I hope that you can find some resources to help you - as we head into the darker days we need to find the light. Within and without.

  4. What a great mum you are taking your boys to the scary tour and painting pumpkins. The pumpkins look great and you are creating great memories for the boys. Stay strong and as Breathing Life says ‘one foot in front of the other’.
