I worked a little on this and that this week. My Ewetopia Stripey Socks have passed the heel flap and turn (in the contrast yarn) and I've picked up the stitches and have started the heel gusset decreases (in the main color). So, that's delightful.

In addition to that, I worked a round or two on the Lederhosen Socken Hat (nothing worth writing home about - just a round or two). I'm going to have to start thinking about how I'm going to do the decreases pretty soon. I may or may not have also worked a round (or part of a round) on the most recent granny square. I honestly don't remember on that one.

I also started another project. About two years ago, I bought a couple of the mini-mochi kits by Anna Hrachovec at ImagiKnit in San Francisco. I've made the tiny narwhals (last year) and I decided to make the tiny turtles. So, I pulled out the kit and was working happily along. I was almost finished with the shell on Saturday afternoon and I went to stuff the piece before doing the last round.....and I heard the unmistakable pop of a stitch coming loose and unraveling. I caught it and was working on fixing it when I had another issue arise and I wound up frogging it. So, instead of a new little finished object, I have a pile of yarn that needs to be restarted. ::sigh:: I was so close to finishing. The head, legs, and tail would have taken me all of a hot minute to complete once the shell was finished. Oh well. I'll restart it soon enough and it won't take me very long because it's so small. I'm leaving it on my WIP list for now.

Challenges (this is new for 2019)
1. Knit 1 granny square a month (average) until I'm out of yarn (for the Granny Square Blanket in my WIP list above): I'm definitely behind. I'm okay with it. As long as I work on them, it's all good.
2. Submit and/or publish 2 designs this year. Given that it's November and I've not given one ounce of thought to this....I'm just going to say that it's probably not going to happen. I can dream, right? No thought means no progress. Oh well.

This week has been both kind of our usual fare and kind of delightful.

Little Man turned NINE on Saturday. We didn't have a true birthday party but we had friends meet at the park and they played and there were cupcakes involved. I didn't even get any photos of him this week!

But last Sunday, I had a delightful experience. A friend of mine texted me and said, "hey, Stephen West is going to be over at Verb for a talk about his new book and a book signing; do you want to go?"

Um..........duh. Yes.

He is delightful. I've met him a couple of times (usually at Stitches West though I think one year it may have been Stitches Midwest). Also, if you're not aware....he's really tall. So he's actually crouched down for this photo. If I remember correctly, he's around 6'4" tall (which is about as tall as Husband is).

Unfortunately, they ran out of books so mine is on order but we still had him sign a bookplate sticker to put in said book when it arrives. I also talked to Jasmin of the Knitmore Girls, who is also delightful.

The rest of the week was kind of benign, really.

I did find this in the school office. This is Little Man's noun/pronoun booklet he made and it's on display. I was tickled at the sewer of balloons. He is 100% my child in this way (and no, he's never seen It, either rendition).

We also had the fireplace going a few times this week. Stormageddon loves being in front of the fire. He grabbed his favorite blanket, the iPad, and some cheese....and there you have it. He was happy.

Husband also occasionally gets in on the action. With his back, it's hard for him to get up/down off the floor sometimes but he got down there the other night. Again, Stormageddon has the iPad. The boys can have it at night so that's why fireplace photos will usually involve the iPads.

Other than that, not much happened this week other than the birthday. We're taking the boys to the zoo today and then it's back to school tomorrow.

I hope you've had a lovely week and weekend!
