This week has been ever-changing, much like everyone else's lives, I'm guessing. As such, I changed things up, as well.

That is my Herbivore shawl. I started it awhile ago, had to restart it, and this is where I'm currently hanging out. It's not much but it's a delightful knit. I don't even mind the ptbl, which isn't something everyone will say. I do wish I had sharper needles because of that but I'm making it work. The yarn is from Sheepy Time Knits and it's from her Middle Earth collection. The colorway is Grey Pilgrim. The project bag is from Slipped Stitch Studios. I did find a mistake, however. So the stockinette sections on either side should match up...and I was off by one stitch. So, I figured out which side needed fudging and I fudged it with a kfb and moved on with my life. I couldn't see any dropped stitch or missed YO so I'm guessing is that I either dropped the stitch really early and it fell back to the YO edging and stayed put or I missed a YO really early on (where things are kind of a mess anyway and, therefore, difficult to see). Regardless, it's fixed and I'm moving on with my life.

In addition to that, I started the Baby Yoda sweater for my incubating nephew. It's done on US#13 needles so I'm hoping it knits up rather quickly. So far, it seems to be. I got a good start on it last night while watching the Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, which was hilarious.

But that's about it for knitting. We've had other things to ponder, which I'll get into in a mo.

Like seemingly everywhere else in the world, this week's focus has been on "Social Distancing" due to Covid-19. On Thursday, late, our local school district's school board decided to close schools and transition to "Distance Learning" until April 4th, then have Spring Break as planned, which means that children are home from school for five weeks, three of which were unplanned, leaving many families scrambling for childcare, among other things. I already work from home and Husband has the ability to do so. We don't have this issue, other than making sure we work and the kids are occupied otherwise.

I have photos but Blogger is disagreeing with me so I can't post them (the one of the shawl I ganked from Ravelry).

Oops.

Aside from that, Stormageddon wound up with an ear infection last weekend. He started complaining about his ear hurting on Sunday afternoon. He was still complaining on Monday so I kept him home from school and took him to the doctor. It's not like they can diagnose an ear infection without looking. ::sigh:: He was feeling significantly better by Tuesday so I sent him to school. We've been limiting the boys' time away from the house, for the most part. I think I'm going to make up a schedule of sorts later today because if I don't keep them on some sort of schedule during the week, they'll try to resort to playing video games and watching TV all day, and that's just not going to work for me and Bob knows it's not good for them!

I hope the next few weeks are as uneventful as possible. I foresee games, reading, flashcards, writing, and maybe some learning games on the computer (we'll see). I hope you're next few weeks are uneventful, as well! I hope you've had a good week & weekend! Maybe my laptop will cooperate next weekend....::sigh:: Stupid technology.

  1. Glad your shawl is now cooperating. It looks good to me. How lucky you both are able to work from home. Hopefully you will be able to corral the youngins into some learning scenarios. Stay well.

  2. sorry about the technology glitch, but will look forward to your pictures next week. Glad to hear the earache is on the mend. Stay well, and knowing you and your boys you will have lots to share about the next 5 weeks of home-schooling.
