FO Friday: Pumpkin Hat

Happy Friday! I feel like it's been awhile since I've been able to post an actual FO on Friday...but, really, it hasn't been that long.

Anyway, onward to FO Friday!

Little Man's Pumpkin Hat (project page)

Pattern: Little Pumpkin by Susan B. Anderson (from Itty-Bitty Hats)
Time Frame: started October 20, 2013; finished October 23, 2013
Yarn: Berroco Ultra Alpaca in 6263 (Orange) with a smidge of Brooklyn Tweed Shelter in Nest (leftover from my Habitat Hat) for the stem and a little bit of Knit One Crochet Too Babyboo in 562 (Olive)
Needles: US #7 (4.5 mm) ChaioGoo 16" circulars and bamboo DPNs
Size: 3+ years
Modifications: The original pattern only goes up to 2 years old and Little Man is obviously older than that...so I needed to make a larger hat. I CO 96 sts and worked from that amount. I also added a "brim" of sorts by doing a 3x1 rib for about 3/4" before following the pattern to keep it from rolling.
Thoughts: I've made this hat a few times now and it's a lovely pattern, easy to read, and it gives great results. I have no problem making this hat again...but I think this hat will fit Little Man for awhile as the hat also fits me. Perhaps he'll let me borrow it?

So, there you have it :) A quick FO for today! I do have another FO but it's still blocking and some things aren't agreeing with me so I'm not quite ready to show that one off...perhaps next week. I may also have a big one coming up soon...it depends on whether I find my motivation to finish it this week. So close, so close...

I hope you're having a lovely Friday. I'll link up with Tami as soon as I can :)
