It's been awhile since I've done a Future WIPs Wednesday. This is probably due, in part, by the fact that I've been on a yarn diet for almost a year. Aside from my pickings at Stitches West and any other fiber festival I happen to wander toward and anything I picked up for Christmas/birthday knitting, new yarn has been pretty far between.......
But we can still visit my stash :)
Let's talk about my most recent acquisition. I had a little.....oops......a couple weeks ago. This yarn just kind of jumped into my hands and the next thing I knew, it was sitting in the bottom of my purse, all bought and paid for!
It's Sock Yarn from Hedgehog Fibers. I'm not 100% sure but I think the colorway is Cabaret. I imagine it'll become a pair of socks someday...maybe fingerless mitts. We'll see when I get around to it in the next 50 years.
Now, I'm ashamed to admit it but this yarn has been in my stash for quite awhile. It's Chrome by Yarn Hollow. I added it to my stash in January 2010...but I bought it at the Madison Knitters' Guild Knit In, which takes place in March. So, I've probably had this yarn since March 2009. It has a plan, though...I'm planning to make the Traveling Woman Shawl with this yarn (probably the small size as I've only got 412 yds. Someday, I'll get there...
I apologize for the blurriness of this photo but you get the idea. I have TEN skeins of this. It's Hand Paint Worsted from Misti Alpaca. I have absolutely NO idea what I'm going to make with this yarn but I have ten of them and that is that.
I think that's all I have today :) Not that there isn't more yarn in my stash (oh dear Lord, I have a stash)....but I don't want to overwhelm you and I'd love to show you my club yarns but since one of them just came out, I probably shouldn't right now.
I hope you're all having a lovely Wednesday :)
Been up early since Sears had to come and take a look at our hand-me-down washer. Daughters are stuffing their faces. Gotta take them to the pediatrician to check their TB injection sights. Other than that, another sunny day to enjoy. May jog.
ReplyDeleteThe first skein is the best. I like the rebellious/goth vibe.
Beautiful yarn, especially like the first one!
