Yeah, let's not talk about the lists right now. Let's talk about how this week has progressed. If you've forgotten, Little Man fell last week and wound up in a split and sling. By Monday morning, I had re-wrapped the splint at least once a day, put a gauze pad with some Neosporin underneath the wrap because he had itched himself to the point of bleeding, and he was just not having any of it. I called his pediatrician's office to see what could be done. There was no way that kid was going to last for another 9 days. They made a phone call and called me back saying that the orthopedic in Palo Alto could probably get him in that week. So, I called and Tuesday morning, we were at the orthopedic's office in Palo Alto....and the splint is gone. They couldn't see an obvious break either but they did say that he'll probably be sore at night and if swelling gets worse or he has pain with movement or anything else, bring him back in and they'll re-do the x-rays. So far, he's been fine, other than the actual bruise (which is a lovely shade of puke green orange). He's glad to be out of the splint; that is for sure.

Other than that, it was a pretty benign week. I did a bunch of work for the school auction even though school doesn't start until the 15th, the boys did their usual amount of fighting and playing, and we even managed to get some painting done. Well, I did. I have this wooden box that I picked up, probably at Michael's (maybe Joann's) with the idea that I'd paint & varnish it, and then I could organize my circular needles (in their plastic bags) into it, thus knowing for sure what I have without having to dig through the entire random bag where they're currently housed. I've already made the tabs to separate the needles by size and I even have a section for the empty bags when needles are in use. There's even enough room in the box for my DPN cases (because I have a ton of DPNs), my crochet hooks (which are mostly in a glass jar), and my interchangeable sets (in their Erin Lane cases). So, that's all very exciting and such. And it doesn't seem to take up any more space than the cookie tin that holds most of that now. I might have to do some jiggery pokery but that shelf needs attention anyway.

Unfortunately, Stormageddon appears to have caught some sort of plague. Again. Snotty nose, fever....and then he threw up all over our bed on Friday night which meant a full change of sheets (including the mattress cover and the waterproof cover - I'm so glad I have one of those). It meant that the weekend was a bit fuzzy. Aside from the snot and the fever, he's acting normal, playing normally, and eating about what he normally would....so I don't know what's going on with that boy. ::sigh::

Here are a few shots from this past week:

We make lots of faces in our house. It is perfectly normal, promise.

It's been awhile since Little Man has watched Doctor Who but he felt it necessary to make wings, have me tape them to his back, and perform a Weeping Angel act for me. Love it.

We went to one of the local parks on Thursday with our friend, Thom (the dude in the blue shirt). There are a couple of absolutely HUGE magnolia trees in the park. I've actually used one as the backdrop for a pattern of mine.

Little Man barely remembers this trip to the park where I took photos of him wearing his new hat. He looks so young and chubby!

Anyway, we went to the park and Little Man and Thom were fascinated (Thom has lived in the Bay Area for his entire life so I don't know why he was amazed...).

We had some lazy time in the bedroom. Little Man watched TV with Puppy and Stormageddon kept trying on Daddy's fancy hats. He kept putting the red one on me but it wouldn't stay put (I had a bun in my hair). Oh well.

I feel like no post is complete without a photo of someone sleeping. So, this week, you get all three :)

Anyway, I hope you've had a lovely weekend. I did some yarn dyeing today so I might have a post about that. We'll see how things go :)
