I would love to say that I've done tons and tons of knitting this past week but I would be lying through my fingers. I'm lucky I did any knitting at all, to be honest. I worked a few rounds on the Vanillaish Rainbow Socks during Little Man's swimming lesson on Thursday and a few rows on the Neck-Down Base Shawl here and there but honestly, that was about it. I did manage to pull yarn for a couple of projects. It has suddenly occurred to me that it's September that I only have 1/4 of my toys knit for Christmas. So, yarn hunting happened the other night. But that's it, I swear!

Moving along, seriously.......let's not discuss those lists right now.

This past week has been very busy. Little Man had school, of course, but I felt like I was running from this meeting to that meeting to working on spreadsheets to returning emails and sending emails and wow, what did I get myself into?!

In addition to that, Stormageddon had a doctor appointment (3 year well visit) and, of course, he's huge for his age. He was in the 85th percentile for both height and weight. Translation, he's the size of a small 4 year old. I'm not surprised. Little Man is the same way. What can I say, I make huge kids.

So, in short: stupid busy week. I only have a couple of photos because I just haven't taken any.

I found these guys on Monday night. They weren't the only ones I saw, either...just the ones that were easiest to photograph.

Little Man has been really into making his own Lego sets...if you can call them that. So, this is a Minecraft one with a Wither something something and I'm not even really sure what all is there. But he's been having fun so I'm okay with it.

And then there's this, which happened yesterday morning. I was out mowing the lawn and weed-whacking and all of that when Little Man starts yelling at me from inside the house, to draw attention to the window. I suspect after four years of abuse from children and a dog combined with some sort of object that hit the window when I was weed-whacking.....yeah, this happened. ::sigh:: Luckily it's double-paned glass but we're still going to have to get it fixed/replaced, which isn't going to be cheap. I swear, if it's not one thing it's another.

But, like I said....pretty benign week around here, or, rather, so frickin' busy that my head is spinning. Either way...

I hope you're all had a lovely weekend!

  1. Too bad about the window, but it is cool looking...might be a design in there!

  2. Wow, that's quite the shatter pattern. And no I don't suppose that will be cheap. We're having glass replaced in the bathroom window and expect to shell out about $100. And it's a tiny little window!

The hugest kid I ever met was a Vietnamese kid. As a baby and a toddler he was Giant! But then his growth slowed down and by the time he was a teen, the other kids had outpaced him. Hard to guess how big kids will get. Sometimes I think length is a better predictor. I was tall, with really long legs, hands and feet and the doctor predicted that I'd grow into them. He was right; I'm over six feet tall.

I don't envy you the busyness... meetings, emailing, running around, spreadsheets!

  3. What an interesting shatter pattern. Before I read your explanation I thought it was some cool lace work. Glad it shattered that way, though and stayed in the window so you don't have millions of little pieces of glass on the ground.

  4. Wow. Good thing is only shattered. I can't imagine picking up all those pieces if it had broken into pieces.
