We had a few things happen this week.

Stormageddon has been insisting on being helpful here and there. In this case, he wanted to carry the diaper bag back pack into the gym. It's a little too heavy for him and even if I tighten the straps, it's still big on him. But he insisted and I'm not about to fight him.

In addition to that, he also started swimming lessons this week.

I'm going to need to get him some ear plugs and a swimming cap. He wasn't a fan of going underwater (which isn't normally an issue) and I think it was partly because of his ears bothering him. We'll see how this week goes.

He started his speech therapy class again this week, because we just don't have enough going on in our lives. He was so excited to see his teacher again. He was also excited because it meant he could wear his new backpack like a big boy.

Road construction has finally begun on the street next to us. It's been an awful road for years but instead of actually fixing it, the city just kept patching holes and putting gravel down. The work trucks from PG&E (Pacific Gas & Electric)  go riproaring down the road like crazy, making all the houses on the one side shake like we're having earthquakes. Everyone that knows the street drives pretty slowly on it, ostensibly because we value our cars' shocks. But, after years of complaints, the road is finally getting completely redone. They're putting in proper curbs and drainage, ripping it up, regrading it, and completely redoing everything. Buuuuuuuut.......

......it means that this is happening next to my bedroom window. Every weekday. 9am-3pm. From now through the end of October. Digging. Drilling. Jackhammers. Construction equipment. Men trying to yell at each other over the noise.

::sigh:: At least the road is getting fixed. Finally.

Stormageddon and I have had to make funny faces about it, if only for our sanity.

Earlier in the week, Little Man asked Stormageddon to come cuddle with him. So, this is the pair in the chair, with their blankets, cuddling while watching Yo-Kai Watch in Netflix. That was on Wednesday. I was glad they still loved each other.......

......and then on Friday afternoon, Little Man pushed his little brother hard and Stormageddon smacked his face on the floor. It resulted in the bruise across his nose in the above photo and a bloody nose but because he's had snot and a cough all week, the blood didn't actually come out his nose until later. It kind of sat up there, congealed somewhat, and then he picked at it and all of a sudden it was like the a flood of blood out his nose, followed with a mass of slightly congealed ick. It was rather unpleasant. But he's not had any issues since then so we're not all that worried about it.

Also, Little Man and Puppy are goofy. This was last night. Puppy was making this....I don't even know what to call this face and I tried to take a photo but he was more interested in Little Man so I got both of them.

So, that's life in a nutshell or something akin to that.

I hope you've had a lovely week and weekend :) I'm toying with dyeing yarn today but we'll see what the day brings. Maybe I should take care of the yarn I already dyed.....or something. We'll see.

  1. Oh boy, it's hard to be a sibling. Nothin' but love and hate. That's how it is sometimes w/my dames. Glad Storm is okay and yay for swimming! I feel it's such an important life skill. Ugh, construction. We have some going on on a main road and on the route I usually take home. It can be annoying.
