This past week was spent trying to get accustomed to my "new normal" with fitting in work hours as well as our everyday life. With that said, it's no wonder that I have four laundry baskets with clean clothes sitting nearby. I'm going to have to put them away today or we're going to run out of underwear.

In addition to that, a few things occurred that were not part of our normal routine anyway, including a trip across the bay to have my tire repaired. ::sigh:: Husband got the tires in February (do you remember the debacle while I was locked in the gym all weekend - the one where Little Man puked in my car, Stormageddon had a tantrum, Husband ran over a construction sign and ripped my skid plate to shreds....he got tires on my car that weekend, also).....luckily, he got the roadside hazard coverage so if I get a nail stuck in it, it either gets repaired or I get a new tire. In this case, it was a repair, at no charge.......but Stormageddon and I were at Walmart in Union City for over 3 hours. We went right after his swimming lessons on Tuesday afternoon. We walked the entirety of that place (except the toy aisles) several times, visited the fish tanks several times, ate lunch at McDonald's, and we finally left just before 5pm (which is during rush hour ::sigh::).

This pretty much sums up how I felt about our trip to Walmart on Tuesday.

Because we spent most of Tuesday in Union City, I didn't get any of my work done.....so I was playing catch-up on Wednesday, which was fine. That night, Little Man's school had Open House and the Art Show.

This was one of my favorites. He had five or six pieces on display in the gym and this was one of my favorites. I really like the trash panda. We also visited his classroom, they did a little musical performance, showed us some of the work they had been doing all year, and they could show us other things they do in the classroom. We also visited some of the other classrooms. Little Man's kinder/1st grade teacher has new baby chicks in her class and one of the 1st/2nd classes has a chinchilla.

Unfortunately, we had a little mishap on our way to Open House.....you can't see it in this next photo but the one after it, you can see it...

While we were walking onto the school grounds, Stormageddon tripped over his own feet as he was trying to grab my hand and fell ass over tea kettle, smacking his head on the cement. He's just got a lump there, no blood....but he was rightfully upset for a bit. He got lots of kisses.

The rest of the week was kind of a blur because I was busy doing things like laundry and working and trying to keep up.....

I don't know that I did all that well...because as I mentioned above, I have four baskets of clean laundry sitting next to me. Oops.

Little Man had swimming lessons on Thursday. He made a "seat" out of some rocks....I don't even know. I love that boy. He's so creative.

Anyway, it's Memorial Day weekend around here. We're making pulled pork for tomorrow, I'm going to see Avengers Endgame today. Little Man had an impromptu sleepover on Friday night. It's been one of those weeks. I hope you've had a lovely week and weekend!

  1. You do such a great job of not sweating the small stuff. When something becomes important enough it will percolate to the top. In the meantime, if you need a clean pair of underpants you can just dig through one of the baskets until you find one. Thank you for continuing to make time to post, and to knit a few rows as time permits.

  2. Well, I don't know where I've been that I've never heard the term trash panda. I looked it up and evidently everyone else has! lol A very appropriate name. Cute picture! I hope you're all having a great holiday weekend.

  3. Happy Memorial Day! I love the rock seat - great idea that boy has! The clean underpants had me chuckling - I had to do laundry yesterday because I pulled the last clean pair out of my drawer - I swear I had just done laundry a few days ago - but I have 10 pairs so.....well, you do the math. Have a great week.

  4. I’ve not heard of a trash panda either, it looks like a ring tailed lemur to me. 3 hours in any shop and I’d have the same expression as you hehe!

  5. How do you find time to breathe while mothering these boys? Your days are whirlwinds. Little Man drew a great drawing and glad Stormageddon is okay.
