I'm popping in today for some random stash enhancement. It's not often that I have stash enhancement these days, as I've been on a pretty hardcore, consistent yarn diet since...well, at least since November.
But, I had a big moment of weakness last week and I thought it was only fair to share with you all.
Last week, as I may have mentioned somewhere (probably in my Year of Projects post), I went to Purlescence Yarns in Sunnyvale, CA to discuss the insanity that is my brain when I decided to agree to make Husband The Dude, which is a rendition of the sweater worn by Jeff Bridges' character, "The Dude" Lebowski in The Big Lebowski. Anyway, I couldn't leave empty-handed...too many pretty things...
Acero |
Columbina |
First up, I picked up two skeins of Manos Del Uruguay Alegria, on in Acero and the other in Columbina. Both of these are 445 yds of merino/nylon sock yarn...which will probably become socks but, you know, we'll see what happens when I get that far.
Then, I may or may not have gone a little nuts with the fiber...
Razzmatazz |
I originally picked up only two of these...but the third one was looking so lonely so all three braids had to come home. This is a 50/50 merino/tencel blend from Fat Cat Knits in Razzmatazz...which is what I named my second car (my first brand spanking new car). So, I have 12 oz. of this and no idea what's going to happen, when I'm going to get it spun, and what it wants to grow up to be :)
I also picked up a couple of circular needles but I didn't photograph them.
Also, these arrived in my mailbox from a destash...
San Francisco Bay |
San Francisco Bay |
With the news of Cephalopod Yarns closing up shop, I may have gone destash hunting...and I discovered these: Little Traveller in the San Francisco Bay colorway. And, next thing you know, my fingers didn't discuss with my brain and I agreed to buy these from someone destashing.
There went my yarn diet.
Anyway, that's about all I have for you right now :) I hope you're having a lovely, stash-filled Tuesday :)
I need to try that Manos. I keep hearing about it.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you got some gorgeous additions to your stash. I'm loving the variety of color you picked-out here.
ReplyDeleteSeems to me a little of what's bad for us is good for us ;) I really love the Manos, it's one of my favourite yarns to knit with when I can get it this side of the world, probably a good think I can't get it so often. I really like the colours also in razzmatazz and can't wait to see what it grows up to be.
