Y2: Self-Imposed Year of Projects - Update #13

Happy Easter Sunday (if you celebrate that)....otherwise, Happy Sunday :)

I'm a bit late and slow-going this weekend because we have company here from Los Angeles so getting things written and scheduled to post hasn't been happening properly. So, I'm writing this on the fly...

Finished Objects (FOs)
1. San Francisco Fog Fingerless Mitts: started January 2, 2013; finished January 10, 2013
2. Don't Blink: started January 16, 2013; finished January 16, 2013  (links to one I made last year using the same yarn)
3. Dalek Dishcloth: started January 16, 2013; finished January 21, 2013 (links to one I made last year using the same yarn)
4. Woven Rib Dishcloth: started February 8, 2013; finished February 11, 2013
5. Icarus Shawl: started March 15, 2010; finished February 14, 2013
6.
Little Granite Dishcloth: started February 16, 2013; finished March 2, 2013

7. Grandma's Favorite Dishcloth: started March 4, 2013; finished March 27, 2013

I finished up a dishcloth this week. It's nothing spectacular but it's done and that means I have another one for our kitchen :)

Works-in-Progress (WIPs)
1. Mama's Vanilla Socks (round 2): started June 29, 2012
2. Eat Your Monkey Socks: started November 29, 2012
3. Little Man's Vest: started January 16, 2013

4. Garter Stripe Baby Socks: started March 3, 2013

5. Freeport Vest: started March 7, 2013

I haven't started anything new...well, not exactly. I've started the second of Little Man's Garter Stripe Socks and I'm just about ready to do the heel. Hopefully I'll have them finished up this week. We'll see. I've also worked a couple rounds on my Vanilla Socks and I'm about a 1/2" from where I'll start the heel flap. I've probably spent the most time working on my Freeport Vest. I'm still in the middle of the waist shaping so I've got a long way to go. I picked up a 60" circular needle for it, which is rather nice because now I'm not trying to cram all my stitches onto my 24" needle.

Anyway, my lists look like this (still):

Children's Items
1. "Little 16" Newborn Socks
2. Baby Surprise Jacket
3. Toddler Socks
4. Alvin Sweater
5. A New Sock Monkey
6. Stig
7. Greyson (need to purchase)

5. Zombie ViXen Fingerless Mitts
6. Ardys

Household Items
1. Halloween Creepy Cloths (1) (need to purchase)
2. Halloween Creepy Cloths (2) (need to purchase)
3. Assorted Harry Potter Cloths
4. Assorted Doctor Who Cloths
5. Grrlfriend Market Bag
6. Petal Dishcloth

Designs (which may or may not be sooper seekrit - obviously the sooper seekrit ones aren't listed)
1. Little Man's Baby Blanket
2. Susan's Hat (4 versions)
3. Assorted dishcloths (set of 12?)
4. Traveling Vines Scarf
5. Traveling Vines Socks (baby for sure, maybe adult-sized as well)
6. Pinwheel Market Bag
7. Anything else that comes along (I have a notebook somewhere with potential designs somewhere)

I hope to get a WIP Wednesday post this week (maybe an FO Friday post)...we'll see how things go. We're almost into April so hopefully things will start picking up. Or not. Unpacking is almost done so now we'll be onto organizing and getting other nitpicky things taken care of (like getting the projector and screen put in - then we can have EPICMOVIENIGHTS).

Anyway, I hope you're all having a lovely week and holiday and such like that :)

  1. A well organized list. I've not gotten anything finished in awhile...though think I'm close.

    1. I think it's going to be awhile before I finish anything now that I've finished the Garter Stripe Baby Socks. Oh well.

  3. Oh it's so nice to have a generous amount of space on the needles. I feel like my hands get sore from keeping a firm grip when all those stitches are jammed on a too-small needle :)

We've had company from out of town too ... and after a few days spending unaccustomed hours with the under 10s, we're exhausted and looking forward to some quiet adult only time :)

    1. Maybe that's why my hands were cramped up and I only wanted to work on this project for a row or two...

    1. Sometimes, having company is really hard on me. I'm not really an introvert but I dislike having a place to go when there are too many people around.

  9. Your list is great and you are certainly making progress! Getting my Grandys' bunnies finished was a huge accomplishment for me, but also a big time consumer. Because I waited until the last minute, I let myself get to the point where that was all I could let myself work on. But now? I have 3 wips that I must get finished before I will let myself start anything new. :)...ummm. well, we will see if that really happens!
I hope you had a wonderful Easter...

    1. It's honestly not that difficult. You need to know how to knit, purl, k2tog, SSK, changing yarn every two rows, and picking up stitches evenly...and maybe short rows but I'm not 100% sure about that and the directions are there anyway :)
