I'm going to admit it: I've been extremely lax on my FO Friday post(s). I need to get on that. I did finally finish up the little ghost this past week. It was embarrassing. I had the actual knitting finished, the piece was stuffed, the ends were woven in......and it took me from the end of October until this past week to make his wee little face.

12. Paradiddle Prototype: started October 19, 2017
13. Rasta Ski Cap: started November 25, 2017

I'm close to finishing the Rasta Ski Cap. I've reached the point where I need to decide if I'm going to make it slouch or not....and probably not. So, there's that. I also worked a little bit on the Paradiddle Prototype. I had to rip back to the beginning of the pattern section because I had an obvious inability to count. Luckily, I put a lifeline in so I was able to rip back and not screw it up.

Other than that, not much happened with knitting this week.

We had a busy week around here. Little Man had his school play on Thursday night and Stormageddon finally had his two separate evaluations for speech & language. Those were outside of normal operation and threw off the entire week.

I did the usual: go to the gym every day (except yesterday), attempt to get some things done around the house, attempt to take care of some auction stuff, and cook all the food. But Wednesday, Stormageddon had his first evaluation. Little Man was picked up from school by one of his friends, I ran errands after Stormageddon's testing (while Little Man was at his friend's house), Little Man had swimming lessons, and then we went to the gym late (because of Stormageddon's testing in the morning).

My boys at swimming lessons. Little Man wasn't quite in the pool yet and Stormageddon was his usual crazy self. I gave him my phone to keep him from screaming and kicking and such.

Thursday was kind of a busy day, but only because of Little Man's play. We had the afternoon free and Little Man took the opportunity to cuddle with Puppy. They're buddies and always will be.

For Little Man's play, he was the "Mirror Man" in a play called "Snow White's Bad Day." He got to tell the Queen that she wasn't the fairest in the land (very cheekily, I might add) and the Queen got to slap him. It was so adorable. The video is 10 minutes and I'm not posting it. But here he is, in all his shiny glory.

Prior to going to school for his play, he lost another tooth. I say, "lost" but, really, I pulled it out because it was ready and he was scared. He wanted to save it for show & tell so I had him write a note to the Tooth Fairy that basically said not to take his tooth yet. ::sigh:: Silly boy.

Friday was another weird day. Stormageddon had his second evaluation. I snapped one quick photo during his testing.

We were about 10 minutes into this session when I got a phone call. My phone was on silent but I saw it ringing and told them I needed to take it as it had the principal's name as the "Maybe: [insert principal's name]" on the caller ID. It was, indeed, the office at Little Man's school. He was in the office because he was saying his tooth hurt. It was slightly wiggly and he'd been messing with it. I told him there wasn't anything I could do as Husband was unavailable and I was at a different school getting Stormageddon tested. I told him he was going to have to suck it up. And he did.

When I picked him up, I asked him how his tooth was feeling and he said it was sore. I looked in his mouth and his front tooth was obviously wiggly. I asked him what he did and he said he hadn't done anything. But it was really wiggly.

Yesterday morning, we fought and fought and I finally was able to pluck it out of his mouth. It was still in there pretty good. Currently, he has three gaps in his mouth. To be fair, one is partially filled in by a new tooth. He's lost a total of five teeth now.

Unfortunately, it appears I've caught some sort of plague. I've got the cough, the chest congestion, and itchy/scratchy sore throat. It sucks. I'm really hoping it's from the ick we've had around here. It's been hazy and smoggy and my body has not been liking it very much. I'm really hoping it's from that and not an actual illness. We'll see.

Next week will be my last update for the year, followed by a wrap-up post the week after :) Then it will be January and time for a new year! Hope you've all had a lovely weekend :)

  2. Damn virus going around; I hope you get well soon. I LOVE how Little Man was the mirror and part of his class play. Is this evaluation for Stormaggedon to start preschool?

  5. I love Storm's new look! (Had to look twice to make sure it was him.) I love the shorn look on little boys' heads. And how that prickly top just begs to be rubbed. I hope you get well quickly and that you all have a great Christmas.
