Year Eight: Self-Imposed Year of Projects - Fall Break....why? (Update #41)

Happy Sunday Monday! I like a good Sunday and yesterday seemed to fit the bill...but I didn't get around to finishing this post. So, I guess it's a task for Monday :) We know why we're here so let's get going.

FO's (Finished Objects):
1. Age of Brass & Steam: started 10 August 2018; finished 7 January 2019
2. Sockhead for Little Man: started 29 November 2018; finished 25 January 2019
3. Cowl for Miss Sylvie: started 18 January 2019; finished 9 April 2019
4. Vanilla Fingerless Mitts: started 16 May 2019; finished 24 June 2019
5. Dishcloth: started 9 July 2019; finished 16 July 2019
6. Clapotis: started 29 June 2018; frogged 16 July 2019
7. Dishcloth: started 16 July 2019; finished 26 August 2019
8. Large Sacrificial Goat: started 20 September 2019; finished 1 October 2019
9. Hufflepuff Hat: started 31 July 2019; finished 7 October 2019

I had actually finished the knitting portion on the Hufflepuff Hat when I posted last time but I hadn't actually woven in the ends or anything like that. But, now I have. And it's washed. The floats are a little tight but it looks fine while being worn so I'm not terribly worried about it. So, I've got that going for me, which is delightful.

WIPs (Works-in-Progress)
(These are carried over year to year)

1. Wink: started 5 January 2015
2. Shetland Neck Wool (support spindle): started 8 September 2017

13. Prototype Something Something Raindrops: started 11 April 2019
14. Lederhosen Socken: started 11 September 2019

Okay. With the Hufflepuff Hat finished, I'm down to an even more respectable fourteen WIPs. Again, you can laugh with me.

I worked primarily on the Lederhosen Socken. I don't think they're going to be finished by the Halloween party on the 26th. It's two weeks away. I'm going to try, though. If he has to go with the needles attached to the yarn, so be it. I also think I'm going for leg warmers instead of actual socks because I don't think he's going to like the actual socks and I can reuse leg warmers. Or something.

Aside from that, I worked a little bit on the Abracadabra Socks. I'm past the gusset decreases and I'm just working down the foot. It's all very exciting, right?

The boys have been on fall break for the last week and they are all this coming week. Send yarn! I'm surprised we've survived as well as we have.

With that said, not a whole lot has been happening around here this week. I've been working from home, the boys have been playing video games and watching movies and reading and arguing, Husband has been working from home, and we're just doing all the things we need to do. In fact, I have clean laundry sitting in front of me that I need to put away. I did it yesterday.....but that was as far as it got. So, as soon as I'm done writing this, I'll put it away.

Little Man and I went to see the Addams Family on Saturday afternoon.

We both enjoyed the movie. It's got some of the feel from the 90s versions but it's also it's own movie. I thought more could be done with it but it's still a cute movie.

Aside from that, Little Man had an actual baked potato the other night. Normally, baked potatoes require the oven and foil and all of that...but our Instant Pot is delightful. We can do them up proper in 20 minutes.

And today, since I'm writing on a Monday...Puppy went to the vet for his annual appointment. He's all healthy and fine (other than some tartar buildup on his teeth).

He's a happy, lovable goof. He was so so so so excited, though. New smells, other animals, other people....he was just nuts. I actually don't like taking him to the vet because he's so nuts but it has to be done. ::sigh::

Anyway, I hope you've had a lovely week and weekend and start to the week and all that. I might get this posting thing right again someday. Maybe.

  1. I bought some stuff called Plaque X from Amazon for my dog, who is 10 years old and had horrendous plaque build up and it’s is incredible. She’s been having some of this natural stuff sprinkled on her meals the last 6 weeks and her teeth have been transformed. Omg I’m sounding like one of those spambots but you know who I am luckily. Anyhoo, highly recommend it.

  2. Love the pic of your happy dog. They never do like the vet, but I am sure he forgives you once it is over and he is home once more.
