Fall Break is officially over after today. The boys go back to school tomorrow. And after the last two weeks of them being home and the constant bickering and wrestling and fighting and defiance (particularly from Stormageddon)......I'm so ready for them to go back to school!

We did a few things this past week, though.

The boys both had well-visit appointments with the pediatrician and the three of us had flu shots that same day. As is tradition, when we have shots, we go out for ice cream. We tried Baskin Robbins downtown first....they opened at 11am, which would have been fine but we found a small sign on the door that said they were opening at noon that day. ::sigh:: Luckily, we found Salt & Straw in Burlingame.

After that, it was just a normal day. I think that was Tuesday...I think. My days are all melding together.

On Wednesday afternoon, we had a cord of almond wood delivered. Little Man and I spent almost two hours stacking it.

I think we'll have wood for a few years. I knew how much a cord was mathematically but I couldn't visualize it until it got here and we stacked it.

On Friday, I took the boys to the San Francisco Zoo. It's their 90th year.

It was a bit chilly so I'm glad I made them wear pants and long sleeved shirts. It's so close to the ocean and at this time of year, the wind can be brutal.

These few animals were posing properly for photos.

Right before this, the tigers were play fighting right in the window. Two of them. They acted just like small cats would...but cats be cats, yo.

We also found these two fuzzy caterpillars. We only found these two but they were cute.

There are these spots all over where you can "be an animal" at the zoo. So, of course, I took several photos. Of course. Like I don't have any from any of our previous trips.

I really love the above photo. It's by the prairie dogs. I was on one side and they have this little prairie dog hole where kids can pop up like prairie dogs would. So, they're in the hole. We also had one of the meerkats that would pose for photos.

The zoo is always fun. By the time today rolled around, i was ready for the weekend to be over. And I'm glad it is.

I hope you've had a lovely week and weekend!

  1. I haven't been to the zoo for ages but oh boy do I remember how much mileage one's shoes can get visiting there. How lucky the boys get a fall break, like ski week?

  2. The pic of your son with the giant spider legs gave me the willies. Too real for me! Great zoo pics and what fun the tigers performed for you.
