Year Eight: Self-Imposed Year of Projects - Halloween is upon us....sort of! (Update #43)

Happy Sunday! Well, in my world it's not Sunday yet but it's going to post on Sunday so that counts for something, right? I'm actually writing this on Friday for several reasons......but nevermind, let's get going.

13. Prototype Something Something Raindrops: started 11 April 2019
14. Lederhosen Socken: started 11 September 2019

So, I did not finish the Lederhosen Socken on time. Not even close. I'll probably frog them this week. I also wound up frogging my Prototype Something Something Raindrops cowl. Apparently I am incapable of reading my own pattern and my knitting. I had put it on time out and I couldn't remember why so I pulled it out to work on it and remembered why it was on time out. And it wasn't something I could just fix....I would have had to pull back about 15 rounds and I'm not great at picking up stitches so it went off to the frog pond. I did restart it the day I frogged it (Thursday evening) so I'm not going to count it as a frog or anything and I'm not changing dates and such. I'll probably put a note in my Ravelry project page but that's about it.

Aside from that, I worked a couple rounds on my Abracadabra Socks but that was about it. I've not been working on the knitting much this week. I've had other things happening.

The only other thing that's happened this week was that I did a dye experiment. I've had a couple pairs of socks that just bleeeeeeeeed when I wash them (same yarn - Colinette Jitterbug and same dyelot). So, I threw a sock blank in there and let it soak overnight.

I'm going to tell you right now: the color of the water is not the color that sock blank came out to be. I let the sock blank dry and then undid it using my niddy-noddy. It's currently sitting on that, having a stretch. I'll photograph it one of these days.

This week has been most of the "usual" things...but not really. I feel like I'm always scrambling to get life in order and then I forget to take photographs and the week just slips away from me. The boys and I had dentist appointments this week, swimming lessons were moved around (and I screwed up when Little Man's makeup lesson was supposed to be...we were late but, luckily, they had a spot for us), Little Man had his snack day on Friday where he and I made snack for his entire class (and I didn't take photos) and yesterday was the Boo-B-Que Halloween party that Husband and I help host as a fundraiser for Little Man's school........

It's just been a week around here.

But, the good news is that it's Sunday and things are going along like they should. I think.

Sadly, I have no photos to show you, though. I've been that........out of sorts, I guess. I hope to get back to it one of these days. In the meantime, I hope you've had a lovely week and weekend :)

  1. I have some Colinette Jitterbug, but not that color...curious to see what color the sock blank turned..

  2. I always forget when a top-down, raglan pattern says to repeat so-and-so rows so many times, I don't knit them first and then do the number of repeats. I've frogged my top WIP at least twice.
