Finished. For now.

I'm done with classes for the semester. I'm still waiting on official grades for two of my classes, though I suspect I know exactly what those grades will be.

Other than that, I've been spending time cleaning the house, trying to maintain some sort of order around here before the parasite comes out. Oh, yeah...forgot to mention that earlier. That was the big news. I have a parasitic growth in my abdomen. It's making me lose weight while making my belly bulge. I'm not too happy about the latter part because I'm having trouble finding clothes that fit. I'm sure it's only going to get worse. Right now, lots of nausea and fatigue, occasional dizzy spells (particularly when I get up too fast from the bed)...no throwing up business (thank Bob!). No idea what flavor of parasite it is - male or female - and not exactly sure on the date it's going to come out but it will probably be right before Thanksgiving (late November for those of you that are not Americans). So, that puts me right around 3 months at this point. We (the husband and myself) are trying to figure out which room to put the crib in...he wants to put it in my office and I'm voting NO WAY on that one, and not because I'm being selfish. There's a built-in cupboard/display cabinet in there that has glass doors. Yeah...small climbing thing with glass doors...I don't think so. So, I'm voting for the guest bedroom. His argument is that we're going to need a place for guests to stay. Okay. The bed will still be in there, too...and if, by some small chance, we have guests stay, the aforementioned parasite can stay in our room in a Pack-N-Play. Not so difficult, is it?

Anyway, that's about all I know at this point. I've been trying to do some knitting but lately, I just don't care much. I mean, I'll work on projects but since I'm not absolutely in love with any of them, I don't really have the desire to work on them (like I did when I was working on my sweater). Hmmm...

  1. Congratulations on both the completion of semester and the parasite

  2. There are tons of people in the world spending thousands and thousands of dollars to have children. Perhaps it would be wise to stop referring to yours as a parasite.

  3. Lighten up, Victoria. It *is* a parasite, feeding off its host. The body undergoes radical changes while the creature growing inside redirects resources and nutrients to feed. Broken down to basic science, human reproduction *is* parasitical - the only difference being once the host expels the the creature, the creature doesn't eat devour the host whole.

Yet. We're still evolving as a species.

Doesn't make it any less beautiful, just a different way of looking at it.

    Gee - over-sensitive much?
