So, I've been working on a "self-designed" scarf now for...well, since I started knitting, actually. Now that I know a bit more about what the heck I'm doing, I've realized that the scarf isn't quite what I would want it to be. However, I'm going to finish it.
In the meantime, I've re-written the pattern to more of what I envision (a scarf with a border, among other things) and I'll probably re-knit it at some point. But, here's the kicker...now I want a matching hat...and maybe matching fingerless mittens...and matching socks...and, if I'm feeling really ambitious, a matching shawl.
No, seriously, I'm envisioning a whole "series" with this pattern. I had dreams last night about how to do the crown of the hat in pattern (or close to it).
So, tell me, am I crazy?

Nope doesn't sound so crazy to me. You will look coordinated and very well put together. Let me know if/when you need a test knitter.
