Stash Enhancement on a Saturday: I fell off the wagon....

Happy Saturday :)

Apparently I'm feeling rather chatty. A post yesterday, one today, another tomorrow, and probably another on Monday.........

As it says above, I fell off the wagon and stash acquisitions happened. To be fair, two of these entries are clubs but the other two are not...

First up....

I believe this is my June shipment for Erin Lane Bags Indie Carnival club. It has a project bag, of course, and a lovely skein from Must Stash, which I hadn't heard of until it appeared in my mailbox. The colorway is called Bahama Breeze. We also got a pattern to go with it and I might even make it...I haven't decided yet.

Next.....

This is my last shipment from KnitCircus for their Gradient Club. It's on their new base, called Trampoline, which has 440 yds. The colorway is called the Whole Enchilada. We also got a 4-pk of washable bamboo buttons from Katrinkles.

And then, these happened.....

The top is four skeins of madelinetosh Tosh Chunky and the bottom is a skein of madelinetosh 80/10/10 MCN Worsted, all of them in the Molly Ringwald colorway. Apparently it's Pretty in Pink Molly Ringwald, not Sixteen Candles Molly Ringwald.....except that it matches the dress from Sixteen Candles. Whatever. I had occasionally looked for this colorway, never really found it, and then I got a bug in my pants last month and I found a few in destashes...which came home with me :)

I fell off the wagon. Oops.

Stash Enhancement: CLUBS!

Happy Friday!

No, I'm not showing off an FO today, even though I do, technically, have one....but the ends still need to be woven in and I need to wash/block it and I need to find buttons. So, no Gex (yet) but, I do have some stash acquisitions to show you (finally!).

Since my LYS closed in March, I've not really purchased much. I think I've picked up a couple skeins in destashes/shop updates and my club yarns and maybe one purchase of Kroy sock yarn. So, they've been few and far between. And I've been lazy.

So, today, I have club shipments!

Firstly, we have my club shipment for Erin Lane Bags' Indie Yarn Carnival. I think this was the May shipment...or maybe it was the late April one or something. Anyway, it's my most recent one.

The bag is her basic sock project bag (the bottom photo shows it better) and the yarn came from KnitCircus. I love KnitCircus and I'm sad that I no longer live nearby. Many moons ago, when I first started knitting (okay, it was probably 2008), I joined the Madison Knitters' Guild. MKG is the biggest knitters guild in the country. Both Jaala Spiro & Amy Detjen, the purveyors of KnitCircus, are members. Back when Jaala was still doing the KnitCircus Magazine, she put out a call for some models for some of the projects. I was newly pregnant with Little Man, so this was probably the spring of 2010. Anyway, I ended up modeling the Tachimawari Socks (yes, the top and bottom photos are of me) and she was quite lovely to work with. We're acquaintances more than anything but she's still fabulous. When she quit the magazine and started dyeing yarn in her basement, I was intrigued but I had so much yarn and we were moving and blah blah blah...so, I never got in on it. And then, last year, they had a Kickstarter to get out of the basement and into a proper shop where they could dye yarn, sell yarn, have classes, and you know, be a shop. I funded said Kickstarter and my swag was a spot in the Gradient Yarn Club (which you will see in a moment).

So, that's my story about KnitCircus.

Anyway, the yarn that came with my Erin Lane Bag shipment was the Greatest of Ease base (80/20 Merino/Nylon) in Meet Me At The Fair. I keep thinking a shawl of some sort for all these gradients because I don't know that socks would work well...maybe if they were the matched gradient sock (you get two mini-skeins that match) but they're just the regular gradients. So, there's that.

My other shipment was, of course, my KnitCircus Gradient Club shipment. So I got two skeins of KnitCircus gradients in a row :)

This is the Triumphant base (100% merino) in The Knit Sky. Obviously it's made to look like the night sky. Again, a shawl of some sort. I keep thinking of a crescent shawl of some sort. I might have to go off designing something...maybe not.

But, we got a bonus bag (and button, which you cannot see very well on the bag)! The bags were made by Andi Smith, who I know better as the writer of Big Foot Knits. She is also quite lovely. I met her a couple years ago at Stitches West in the Cooperative Press booth (probably 2014).

So, stash enhancement acquisitions and such :) Exciting times.

I'll be back on Sunday for my Year of Projects update and that's wonderful :)

Stash Acquisition on a Tuesday :)

Happy Tuesday!

If you follow me on Instagram, you've probably already seen my latest stash acquisitions but I'm still writing a post for those of you that don't follow me...because, let's face it, you can only put so much in an Instagram description.

So, let's get started with the stash enhancements! We'll start with what arrived the longest ago and go forward in time :)

Yarn: KnitCircus Corriedale Sock
Weight/Yardage: Fingering; 385 yds
Colorway: A Groovy Kind of Love

This is my latest shipment for the KnitCircus 2016 Gradient Club. I've no idea what it wants to grow up to be but it wants to be something :)

Yarn: Bleating Heart Haven Kid Mohair & Cormo
Weight/Yardage: Fingering; 150 yds
Colorway: Lime

This little skein arrived with the KnitCircus shipment. There's something extra in the shipments. This was this month's "extra." No idea what I'm going to do with it.....possibly an edging on something? I don't know. There's not a ton of yardage but I'm sure I can find something suitable.

So, these arrived a couple of weeks ago. I've been holding off because who knows how long shipments take to get some places...so, really, I was just being nice :)

Yarn: Clara Yarn Cormo 1.0
Weight/Yardage: Worsted; 155 yds/skein (so I've got ~ 465 yds)
Colorway: None listed but I would imagine "Natural"

This yarn is difficult to find and I came across someone destashing it. So, it had to come home with me. Let's be honest: this was just me feeding the stash again.

Yarn: Vice Yarns Paradigm Shift
Weight/Yardage: Fingering; 600 yds/skein (I have approx. 3200 of the blue-grey, and 3000 of the green)
Colorway(s): Unnamed

So, this yarn. THIS YARN. Several months ago (bordering on almost a year ago), I caught wind of a Kickstarter for Vice Yarns for various things to make their operation run more smoothly and, of course, I like indie dyers and I hopped on. If you're unfamiliar with Kickstarters (or IndieGoGo or any of these fundraising companies), you often can get kickbacks, hence Kickstarter. I funded KnitCircus when they were looking to open their own physical brick & mortar shop, and my kickback was a spot in the 2016 Gradient Club (hence why you see those). For Vice Yarns, my kickback was getting 10 skeins of yarn specially dyed for me in whatever color(s) I wanted. I would get samples, blah blah blah. Anyway, I am the last person to get their kickback. And it was 100% worth the wait! I went back and forth about what weight of yarn I wanted to work with and in the end, I chose sock yarn. In between the funding/yarn decision and the actual dyeing of the yarn, they changed their sock base....which means that instead of 4000 yds total, I wound up getting 6000 yds total. That's why it's split into two colors. It means I have TWO sweater quantities of sock weight yarn to make TWO sweaters. Also, Lizzie knew they were changing their sock base and wanted me on the new sock base and I'm patient, as long as I was kept in the loop. So, I finally got my yarns last week. In between all of that, I've also gotten a bag of various minis (seriously, I think that bag weighed 4 lbs) with various yarn weights and colors and OOAKs (one-of-a-kind). LOVE IT.

Now I need to decide on sweaters to make for me. Because I'm totally going to be selfish with this!

And there you have my most recent stash acquisitions. I hope you're all having a lovely Tuesday :)
