I have worked on one project and one project only: Flax for Stormageddon.

I'm knitting the 8-10 year size for him, knowing that he will grow into it and wear it for as long as he possibly can. He's still trying to rock the striped Greyson that I made for Little Man in 2013 (as a 4T size)...it's getting a little small. Whatever, it works.

My row gauge is off, which isn't surprising. My row gauge tends to be off. Thankfully, the schematic gives measurements so I can see where to add length. I've just split for the armholes so I'm getting ready to start adding in some stripes. We'll see how things go. I don't really have "a plan" for the stripes, other than I'm planning to do them. I don't know if I'm going to put blue in between or if I'm going to just do stripes of grey and brown or...yeah, no plan. The good news is that I will have plenty of yarn.

It has been a busy week here in California. This past week was not only teacher appreciation week, it was also nurse appreciation week. But, since I have two kids in school and I'm a crazy person, we only had to really deal with teacher appreciation week. Friday was such a hot mess....we ordered food for the teachers, which was late, and we had a materials pickup that was happening at the same time, but everything else seemed to work out, which was good. It was just a really busy day, when it didn't necessarily need to be.

The weather has been somewhat cooperative, which is helpful. The boys have been playing in the pool in the afternoons, which is good for them. I just have to remind them that they can't actually jump in because it's only like 18" deep and they'll probably either get hurt, break the pool, or both.

I know, it doesn't sound like we were all that busy...but things were happening left and right and fielding emails and all sorts of things. It was just kind of a hot mess this week. I feel like nothing was accomplished but, in reality, so many things were done this week......I just have very little to show for it.

The only other major thing that happened was Friday evening. A group of mom friends went out for dinner because we've not been able to do so for over a year. We're all fully vaccinated, we were outside, tables were more than six feet apart, all the staff were following Covid protocol...so all was well.

While I was gone, things were happening at home, apparently. Our roommate and Stormageddon decided to have a photo shoot at some swanky hotel....I'm not sure how they got there and back in less than three hours. Okay, forget it...it's just some Photoshop action going on.

Okay....let's talk about this creepy doll. Earlier this week, the aforementioned moms (photo above) were talking about random things, as we do, and topic of our local Buy Nothing groups came up. One of the moms saw this on her local group...

Apparently this is the type of doll that nightmares are made of? I thought it was kind of cute. So, unbeknownst to me, she decided to get it....and then delivered it to my front door and put it on my turtle. I opened up the door the other day to get the mail and found that. ::sigh:: It's still there.

If you look, you can kind of see the El Panal Cowl sitting on the couch. The boys were sharing an ice pack. Stormageddon wound up with a lump on his forehead earlier this week. He said he tripped and fell on his face in our bedroom but he didn't cry or react so we didn't know anything about it until I saw his head. Silly kid.

Like I said, boys in the pool.....

I'd like a week where nothing is going on, things are slow, and just.....phew. I don't think this is going to happen but I'm going to dream.

I hope you've had a lovely week & weekend!
