WIPs (Works-in-Progress) (These are carried over year to year if needed):

10. Rose City Rollers: started 18 June 2020
11. Greenwood Fiberworks Dark BFL (Viktor): started 28 June 2020

I've managed to not start anything new (yet). We'll see how that goes as I have a project I need to get yarn wound for and start soon. I think. Regardless, nothing new yet and I'm hanging around a respectable eleven WIPs.

I finished up another granny square and started another one for the granny square blanket, which is good. Unfortunately, I know I'm coming to a knot so I'm going to have to cut the yarn and weave in ends later. I suppose worse things could happen but I'm not very good at starting a new color/end/ball in the middle of a granny square. So, there's that.

I also finished up the first of the Rose City Rollers socks. Okay, it's not 100% finished yet as I've not actually done the Kitchener on the toe but I am to that point.

The only other thing I managed to work on this past week was the Linen Stitch Scarf, which was mostly done during video chat sessions (a knitting one on Friday and a Principal one yesterday). It's not very long but it was funny because while I was working on it during the Principal chat yesterday, one of the moms texted me and asked me to hold up what I was working on. And then the Principal asked me at the end, also. They all know I knit and they could see my hands working on something.

I feel like this week has been a bit quieter now that we're home from Washington and kind of getting back into the swing of things. Of course, it's all kind of a moot point as school will be starting back up in like three weeks. ::sigh:: Then the schedule needs to be mucked with again, at least for the boys and me so we'll have to see how that will turn out.

I did some work in our bathroom. We had a spot in our bathroom shower that leaked, just a little (enough to be annoying but not enough to cause damage). We did some caulking in there a few years ago to try to mitigate the leak. Unfortunately, we didn't do things correctly. We just put new caulk over the old stuff, didn't let things dry out, etc., so we were having some issues with mold because water was getting between the old and new caulk. Sooooo, I stripped out the new caulk and the old caulk, cleaned up the mold (with gloves and bleach), let a fan blow on that area for a day, recaulked both sides and let it cure/dry for almost two days....and now, no issue. It wasn't the most fun I've had but at least it's done and done correctly.

We also fixed the spot of dry rot. We had pulled off the old boards and sprayed the Killz and such last week. This week we attached the new boards, caulked around them, and painted. So, that's another thing off our list.

Husband has been futzing with his 3D printer. I don't think there's been a day since we got it that it hasn't been running (except while we were out of town and the print screwed up). So, there's that. He's making things to store his tools for said printer (wrenches and nozzles and such like that). I don't know what he's going to make after that. We'll see, I suppose.

In other random events, Little Man has taken a liking to the Legend of Zelda again (some more) and has decided that this is his Link costume, but not really. He actually let me take a photo, which is also a rarity. Silly boy.

In addition to that, Little Man got a new (to him) bike and, by proxy, Stormageddon got a bike (Little Man's old one). He's at that odd size where a 26" bike is too big yet but his 20" is far too small; what he needed was a 24" but he'd only be riding it for a hot minute. We weren't crazy about spending a bunch of money on a bike he might be on for two years.

So, Husband, being practical, posted in Little Man's school's Facebook group asking if anyone had one just hanging around they wanted to sell. One of the moms I know (I don't know her well but I do know her) said she had one and she also lives just a few blocks from us. So, I took Little Man over and lo, we have a bike for him. It needed some cleaning, air in the tires, and the chain needed some WD40. Otherwise, it was perfect!

Of course, that meant that we needed to find the training wheels for the little bike and get those on for Stormageddon.

Clearly, we were successful.

I'm glad things worked out. Now the boys have something else they can do, aside from playing in the yard or inside, or going in the pool.

So, that's all been very exciting. We don't have anything planned for this week but I'm sure we'll find something worth doing. Or not. Whatever. It's summer and we can do what we want!

I hope you've had a lovely week and weekend!
