I would love to say that this past weeks was amazing but I'd kind of be lying. I spent far too much time at the post office because I shipped something like 30 small packages over the last week or so. They all contained this:

Yes, that is a dumpster fire ornament. Husband printed probably 40 or so on the 3D printer. Actually, a few more because we had some mishaps in the process. They were shipped to friends, family, and coworkers while a handful or so were hand-delivered locally. Whoever designed these did a fantastic job as they were a really well-thought out design. I mean, they even included a hole in the second tier of the fire so you could put a string through it for hanging.

In other random events, both boys got new beds....well, Little Man got a new bed:

I can stand under his bed. We moved his desk underneath and moved around a few other things and it's actually kind of a functional space. It's not perfect. He can't sit up in his bed because it's so close to the ceiling but that's okay. He seems to like his new space for the moment.

Stormageddon, on the other hand, got Little Man's old bed. It's also a loft but not nearly as high. His desk cannot go underneath so he has toy storage down there for now. I think it will probably always be that way but we'll see how things go. He seems to enjoy his new setup as well. There's still work to do in both boys' rooms, however. The biggest thing we need to do is go through all their books and toys, sort them into keep/donate/toss piles, and reorganize how things are stored. Little Man has two garbage bags full of toys to donate, which is awesome. Stormageddon hasn't started yet but we will probably do that over the weekend.

They were drawing during PE again. This time it was a snowman picture. I think the only thing he added after I took the photo was the sun...but I might not be remembering that correctly.

I feel like a lot of this past week has been a wash. We just have this week left of school before the break, which I know the boys are looking forward to, even if we can't go anywhere. They are just tapped out and I do not blame them. It's been a rough school year, even though it appears that we are faring much better than others. Both my boys are caught up on their work, understanding what they're doing, and aren't fighting too much about going to their meetings and doing their work. There are plenty of kids that are behind or refusing to do work and/or go to their meetings. I suppose I should count myself lucky that the boys are at least doing that.

So, we'll see how things go and how life progresses. I hope you all had a lovely week and weekend.

  1. How fun for your boys!! It's always fun to remodel. Creating more floor space is always welcome. Hopefully you will get some crafting time during the school break. Around here schools having a 3 week break since we have in person days. That way it's 2 weeks after Christmas to try to help with exposures from likely family gatherings.

  2. Love the new set up for Little Man. Very functional. My Grand Daughter chose to do online learning after Thanksgiving and is fine with it. She actually prefers it over being there in person. I think each child is different. Although, she does have other activities that gives her social contact with other kids her age. (Theater and voice lessons) Our schools here have not declared when they will reopen for in person teaching after the new year. I am sure they will be waiting the 14 days after Christmas before they do. You are close to the end or your YOP year. How do you think you did? It seems like you have quite a few finished items this year.

  4. That's a nice loft bed. Yeah, high if he can't sit up. We had accidedtally gotten the 8th grader a bunk bed and the husband got these plastic risers for it so it'd be like a loft bed and so her desk would fit underneath.
