This week was rough so not much knitting happened. I worked a few rows on the Linen Stitch Scarf, the Sand Drift Blanket, and I put the first of the Rose City Rollers onto a spare needle and started the second sock. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to do a contrast toe, which doesn't bother me, but that's why I put the first sock on a spare needle for now. So, we'll see.

I took a quick photo of the sock while I was still working on the foot (obviously it's further along than this).

That was it, though!

This week was r-o-u-g-h! My allergies decided to start acting up last weekend and they got so bad that I couldn't wear my contacts for a few days because my eyes were so itchy and crusty. I was putting allergy drops in and taking extra allergy medication so I could sleep and it just wore me down. I wound up feeling like crap most of Monday and Tuesday. Husband had his first Fauci Ouchie on Monday. He did not do very well with it. Monday and Tuesday were pretty rough days for him, as well. I went and got my Fauci Ouchie on Wednesday. I was hoping for the Moderna or Pfizer one so I would have an excuse to go back but I wound up getting the Johnson & Johnson so it was one and done. However, Wednesday and Thursday were pretty rough for me. I wound up napping both days and was just really exhausted. I was feeling a bit better on Friday but I was still fighting headaches.

And here is proof! I did the thing!

As a result, my entire week was messed up and I have had no concept of days for most of the week. In addition to getting my Fauci Ouchie, I also had an appointment to pick up equipment for a sleep study on Thursday (for that night). Friday was spent running errands like dropping off the sleep study equipment, going to Target, and going to Costco.

Speaking of the sleep study, this was what I had to wear. It was a watch-like contraption hooked up to a pulse oxygen reader on my finger. Nothing like what Husband had to wear when he did his a few years ago.

Also, you can see my hair in braids above...this is what all that hair looked like when I took the braids out. My hair is so frickin' long right now. I don't even know how to handle it. It spends 95% of it's time pulled up or in braids. I am so getting it cut off in a few weeks, at least a couple inches off the ends!

In other random events, the boys had a ton of energy yesterday and I took them out for a long walk, we stopped at a friends' house where we got to see some of her tarantulas and cockroaches and her recently-molted mantis (she's an entamologist) and then they were still wired so we had them move some tree stump pieces. We were going to cut them in half but they are really dense wood (scrub oak) so it just wasn't working out. So, the boys moved them. We found a garden snake, which Little Man caught and relocated. It was very sweet but very pissed off that we were doing things to it's house. ::sigh::

We also dyed Easter eggs yesterday. The boys colored on the eggs with crayons and then we put them into the dye and now they're in the fridge. I think we're making deviled eggs tomorrow. Maybe. Something like that.

I took the boys to the donut shop on Friday, because they have been begging to go for awhile now. Little Man enjoyed his donut but wasn't as happy as Stormageddon. Whatever. Silly boy.

Oh, and I had Little Man helping me replant cucumbers yesterday. He was more interested in the rolly poly he found but whatever. It was a big one, though. We sprouted cucumbers and dill in something Husband made and I put them out front yesterday. I hope they take...I really don't want to do it again.

Anyway, I hope you've had a lovely week and weekend and all that. I should be back to normalish this next week and the boys are still on break so we'll see how things go.

  1. Your hair's so long! Love it. Where you live must be a great place to grow with the good sunshine. I guess places just get what they get in terms of which Covid-19 vaccine?

  2. What a cute project bag!! I just love fun bags don't you?? Congrats on your shot. We wanted J&J but got Pfizer so it will be May before we are fully protected. I already have a lunch date with a friend I haven't seen in 18 months set up!! Loving the long hair but as a stylist asked me years ago - if you always wear it in braids/pulled back why don't you just cut it off. Been no longer than chin length ever since.

  3. My hair is long enough to put into pigtails too, but not as long as yours. Congrats on getting your 'jab'. I love the nickname you gave it. I hope to get my first later this month, but here in Canada they are waiting 4 months to give the second so I won't be fully vaccinated until some time in late August. I love the colour of the sock.
