Year the TENTH: Self-Imposed Year of Projects - Alcohol counts as a place. (Update #29)

Apparently it's Tuesday and I 100% missed getting this post written for Sunday. My days are still all melding together so this isn't terribly surprising. Regardless of my background reasoning, I'm here fairly close to Sunday so I don't feel all that guilty for being a day or two late...let's get going!

Tour de Fleece has ended as of yesterday. I actually did quite a bit of spinning but it was all front-loaded. After my last (frustrating) spin, I didn't actually spin anything else. Oh well.

My totals for the TdF were:

That's not terrible, considering. I probably could have finished quite a bit more if I hadn't lost steam 10 days early. I finally figured out the yardage on the Allons-y Fiber Arts Merino on Friday. Like those bobbins sat for 9 days before I wound them off onto the niddy-noddy and washed them. They're currently still drying.

Oh....where to start........we have been cleaning and purging this week. Not necessarily a lot, just little things here and there. Like we managed to condense our pantry into a space roughly half the size and get rid of a shelving unit. I went through my hanging clothes and my workout clothes. I have a bag to go to donation and a couple of things that went into the garbage. I've tossed out unused/partly used beauty products (hairspray, specifically). We've been eating food from the freezer/pantry and working around what we have. I got rid of some expired food (canned mostly). Since we have AC, I pulled out the box fans and window fans and am giving them to people that need them because we sure don't. We're getting rid of our popcorn maker because we never use it. Little things we can do in a half-hour. The boys are doing it, too. Sort of. Little Man went through all his books and we got rid of quite a few. He still has a ton but we got rid of a lot. I need to do the same with Stormageddon but he's a bit more resistant to getting rid of books. He loves his books, even if he's way too old for them. I may need to do it when he's not looking. 

Husband took this past week off because he just needed the break. We did some things around the house, like the purging and organizing and such, he played some video games, we got caught up on Loki, he watched some more Star Wars: The Clone Wars (sometimes with me, sometimes not), we did some yardwork...but mostly, he took the week off to relax, which he kind of did. I'm not entirely sure he's capable of relaxing while at home. He sees things that need to be done and decides to do them. I'm scared for his future retirement. He's going to drive me nuts. 

I took the boys to the park last week, which was much needed. They need to play with other kids and this pandemic has been pretty brutal on them. Little Man also went to a birthday party on Sunday, an actual in-person event!

Even though he's had little training, he's pretty good with a bat-like object for hitting piñatas. The kids all kept trying to cheat and look at first. Eventually, because they had all taken at least 3 whacks and nothing was happening, we let them open their eyes. 

We also spent some time power washing our fence. We have lived in our house for just over 8 years now and the fence has never been fully power washed. So, Husband and I worked on it in spurts. It turned out pretty well, honestly. We got 8 years of smog and grime off, which helped. It's not perfect by any means but definitely better.

In addition to that, Little Man started learning how to knit this past week. He's been after me for a few weeks and I finally pulled out some yarn and started a hat for him (the ribbing). Then I taught him to, "stab, strangle, scoop out the guts, and throw him off a cliff." He's doing pretty well. I have a video on my Instagram if you want to see him in action. He does a few stitches, then I'll do a few (so there's evident progress). He's doing pretty well.

And lest you think Stormageddon has been hiding....he set up the chess board for him and Daddy to play. Now, remember, he's only 6 and has never really played. He saw the board set up once and played once. I think he did pretty well at setting it up by himself. He knew to put the pawns in the front. Everything else was kind of....well, he did pretty well.
