Just under the wire for Stash Dash, I finished the Flax sweater for Stormageddon! Now, to be fair, I haven't woven in the ends yet but it's been washed, which is important. I also took a photo of him wearing it (pre-wash).
It fits him perfectly, so I'm hoping it grew a little in the bath. It's quite stretchy though, so we have awhile anyway. He's so excited that it's finished...just in time for another heat wave. ::sigh::

Since I finished up the sweater, I spent some time on a few other projects that have been on the back burner for a bit. I spent Wednesday morning knitting with a friend at her house. She was working on a colorwork beetle sweater of some sort and I pulled out my Herbivore shawl. I only managed a full pattern repeat but it was a full pattern repeat (which is just four rows)....progress is progress! I also worked on it again later in the week.
In addition to that, I pulled out the Sand Drift Blanket and worked a full pattern repeat of that (which is also four rows). I need to measure that one to see if it's time to fade out one color and add in the second one. We'll see.
I also worked on my newest pair of Rose City Rollers. I'm just working down the foot on the first one. I think I'm about 15 rounds from the toe decreases, which is where I'm going to switch colors. So, that will be lovely.
But wait, there's more! My order arrived from Purl Soho, as did my yarn from The Royal Bee and project bag from Uncommon Threads.
The bag is a heavy canvas, and has a zippered pocket on the back and a drawstring closure. The yarn is a merino fingering weight in a buttery yellow. I'm not sure what it's going to grow up to be but I'll figure something out.
And then there are all these beauties from Purl Soho.....
I've had this saved in Pinterest and as a bookmark for awhile but I found a print version and bought it.
Four skeins of this bright pink from their Posy base, which is a fingering weight merino, cashmere, nylon in 50g skeins, with 159 yds/skein.
Five skeins of this dark blue with stelina on their Mineral Silk base, which is a laceweight, 75/25 silk/stelina in 50g skeins, 394 yds each. So I have almost 2000 yds of this. I have no idea what it's going to grow up to be but that's not unusual for me. I never buy silk like this so.....I splurged. I believe it's called "Starry Night," which is very fitting.
This is their Cattail Silk base, which is a more subdued 100% silk. The Mineral Silk is shiny and this is matte, which is perfectly fine with me. These are 100g fingering weight skeins with just over 600 yds per skein. They're basically a tweedy charcoal color.
This one is a skein of their Understory, which is a 100g skein of a 50/25/25 baby alpaca, yak, and silk blend, approximately a DK weight with 250 yds. This one wants to be a hat for me, I think. But we'll see. It might change it's mind. It's a bit brighter than the photo shows. It's an indigo blue.
This last skein is destined to become a pair of mittens for my step-grandma. It's from Harrisville Designs on their Highland base, which is a 100% virgin wool, 100g skein of worsted weight. My step-grandma used to knit all the grandkids mittens and hats and scarves and such when we were growing up. I'm the oldest of the grandkids, if I remember correctly, and the only one that took up knitting. A few weeks ago, I was texting with her and I asked her what she needed since she's 85 and can't really knit anymore. She told me she needed some mittens and they had to be purple, of course, for it's her favorite color.
No problem....just need to get some yarn.
But wait, there's even more! Because why not!? So, I've had all these things come in and that's all fine and wonderful. And then I had more and it was totally unexpected. Husband's friend (and former coworker) stopped over on Saturday with his wife and their son to see how the back room turned out. When they arrived, they held out a huge paper bag to me and said, "surprise!" Inside were three skeins of Bernat Blanket, which is a super bulky acrylic with about 220 yds/skein...and there were three of those, so about 660 yds of super bulky squishy love. And then there were six balls of Daruma Eva, which is apparently an Aran weight, 100% wool with approximately 85 yds/ball. The ball band is written in Japanese so I can only read a few things that were in English (Eva, wool) and figured out a bit based on what's normally on ball bands (meterage, 100%, etc.). And then, because why not have MORE, there were an additional six balls of Pierrot Yarns Basic Slub, which is a 100% bulky thick & thin...but I'm not 100% sure it's the correct yarn because the information that I can read on the ball band (which isn't a lot because, again, it's in Japanese) doesn't quite match what's in Ravelry's database...but I'm pretty sure this is the yarn because it's one of only two entries from that company that look like what I have in front of me.
What am I going to do with all this yarn?!

The only other "major" thing we did this past week was fix our headless horseman. We used a different setup, and most of the original materials. It's a lot more sturdy and hopefully our neighbors won't be assholes and knock this one over like they did the last one. ::sigh::
Other than that, not a whole lot has been happening around here, which is probably a good thing.
The sweater looks good. He looks quite happy about it too. You received some lovely treasures this week too. Lots of yarn to make lots of lovely items.
