I didn't get a lot of knitting done this past week. Or crocheting. What little I did do was on the second pair of Vanilla Socks. I finished up the heel flap, did the heel turn, and started working down the foot this past week. That was seriously about all....

So, I finally have some *good* news on the "Where Is My Stuff" front - supposedly we are scheduled to have delivery on Tuesday. I'm not going to hold my breath but we'll see.
In addition to that, we've also been measured for our new counters. The problem is that we need to take out some cabinets and shave down about 1/4" on them to accommodate for the new counters. My brother is going to come over and help us out with that (he's a carpenter). We were actually supposed to be doing that yesterday but....well.......shit.
There's no nice way to say it. The 'Rona has hit our house. Little Man started showing symptoms last Sunday. Monday he was grumpy with a sore throat and congested. I took him on Tuesday morning to get tested at the pharmacy in town. The school district doesn't allow the at-home over-the-counter tests which is why I had to wait to go to the pharmacy. The results didn't come back positive until Thursday afternoon but I had already talked to the school nurse and he was home all week. Stormageddon, who was not symptomatic, was allowed to go to school even though we had a likely case in the house. For peace of mind, I had him tested on Friday and am still awaiting results.
Husband and I remain asymptomatic, though we haven't been running out and about for things, just in case. But, at this point, we don't have much else we can go out for until our stuff arrives...so Instacart Fairy and the Amazon Fairy have been visiting. And the UPS Fairy. And maybe the FedEx Fairy.
As long as Little Man's symptoms are going away and he remains fever-free, he can go back to school tomorrow. And if Stormageddon's test comes back negative, he, too, can go back to school. They have to wear their masks properly but that shouldn't be an issue. I did order more but they have yet to arrive. Oh well.
Did I mention Little Man wasn't feeling all that great earlier in the week? Puppy climbed up on the couch beside him and basically plopped on him. He also slept with him at night.
We also worked on painting one of the bathrooms this week. This particular bathroom, which is on the main floor, is our only 1/2 bath...meaning it has a loo and a sink. For some reason, this one has a bathroom fan, which it doesn't need. It also had a full-size towel bar. So, we left the fan because it's not a big issue but we did remove the towel bar, which left holes in the wall and needed repair. Okay fine. We've done that before. The repair itself was easy. We grabbed the paint can that the previous owner had so graciously left us and went to paint the spot because the paint can said that it was for that room....noooooooope. It was a teensy bit off. So, we had to repaint the bathroom. ::sigh:: We did the same thing in our bathroom and used the same color, with the same result. So, two bathrooms had some painting done this week.
And then we got snow. Because why not. And we're supposed to get more tonight. It's not a lot but it's enough that I'll have to get the shovel out because of the movers. If they come.
Anyway, I hope you've had a good week and weekend. I'm going to try to relax the rest of the day :)
So excited that you are (hopefully) getting your belongings. Hopefully Little Man will be back in school on Monday and Stormagedon is negative.
ReplyDeleteYou’re such a busy mama! 😊
ReplyDeleteHope your son is better by now, and fingers crossed that you get your belongings soon.
ReplyDeleteHope Omicron is done with your household.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are all on the mend now, and that if you did get snow you all feel well enough to go play in it. Today is Thursday - so I hope you are happily unpacking all your stuff.
ReplyDeleteHope your son is feeling better and everyone else remains a symptomatic. Also hoping the movers arrive.
