What little time I did spend knitting, I worked on either the Vanilla Socks (#11) or the Baby Blanket. I'm about 3/4 finished with the baby blanket (I think I have like 2 rows before I change to the last color). If I can work on it for a couple hours every day, I'll have it finished by the end of the week. We'll see how things go.

The Vanilla Socks are at the point where I pick up the stitches from the heel flap & turn and start knitting down the foot, doing the gusset decreases. Nothing terribly exciting. I keep hoping that I'll have something to add to my FO list soon but, you know, that's not happening. Well. Maybe. Not the socks though. Not yet.

And then I fell into two yarn shops over the weekend. I didn't buy a lot but what I did buy is mostly slated for specific projects, which is always a good time. I'll have to do one of those Stash Saturday posts soon. I haven't done one of those in awhile.

Anyway, moving along.....

In "real life," we went to see Hamilton this week.

Our husbands were seated way over there....

......and we were way up here.......

We did get to see directly into the pit, which is always entertaining for me. The show in San Francisco was better, but this one was still good. To be fair, the cast/crew in San Fransisco had previously been in Puerto Rico where they got to learn (and perform) with Lin Manuel Miranda himself. So, you know, they got to work with the mastermind behind the whole thing.

Thursday, the boys left for the cabin. I spent the day/evening doing laundry, cleaning, and knitting on the baby blanket. We left on Friday. There were 8 of us, total, in the tiny cabin. It's not that tiny, actually. It's probably 1500 sq. ft., which is almost the size of our house in California. We made it work. The boys went fishing and out on the boat, there was fire, there was knitting, and there was food. You know, the usual, good things.

Little Man caught a crawfish with his bare hands. They're basically freshwater lobsters. This guy was not big enough to eat but there are bigger ones, of course.

Puppy got a little too close to the fire and managed to singe one of his eyebrows. He learned his lesson. He just wanted to be by the fire and not by his girlfriend (our friends' 2 year old yellow lab - she's very in Puppy's business).

Other than that, not a whole lot is going on around here. Kind of a "normal" summer week. We got the boys' school supplies last week, though we have a couple things to get. They have clothes and shoes so we're basically ready to go, other than the actual going. Their friends in California started this past week and we're just twiddling our thumbs for a few more weeks. It'll be fine; there are plenty of things to get done around here.

And with that, I'm wandering off.....I hope you've had a lovely week and weekend!

  1. You 'fell" into yarn shops? Wow. I hate when that happens lol. Sounds like you may have an FO soon. Your time up north sounds nice. Although. Just you being in WI is 'up north' to this AZ person.
