Happy Saturday :)
I've acquired some yarn recently, some of it by my own volition....okay, all of it is by my own volition but one was a club shipment and the rest were because I'm having a thing in my head about sock cuffs and heels and toes right now.
Anyway, let's see it already!
This is a skein of Miss Babs Yowza in the appropriate name "Top of the Ferris Wheel" because it's from my most recent shipment from ErinLane Bags Indie Yarn Carnival (seriously, it came a couple days ago).
And the bag that came along, of course. I'm not positive but I think this is what Lindsey deems the "Small Project Bag" on the website.
A pattern also came along for the ride so here's a shot of all three:
The pattern is the Brave Shawl, which is not in the Ravelry database (yet).
I also went to Michael's the other day with a bug in my pants for some plain white or grey or something not black yarn for sock cuffs, heels, and toes. Don't ask me what I was thinking because I think I was pondering #operationsockdrawer (which you can find out more about if you listen to the Knitmore Girls podcast) and Susan B. Anderson's #soskal (which is for her Smooth Operator Socks KAL). Anyway, these came home......
Patons Kroy, which is a workhorse sock yarn that I've used before (my Vanilla Latte socks).
And two separate skeins of Loops & Threads Woolike. The top is more of a white/undyed and the bottom is slightly on the grey side. The only thing I'm worried about with these two is actual yarn weight. It's classified as a light fingering weight, which is fine for socks....but most of my socks are just a normal fingering weight so I'm a little worried that it'll be too thin for what I'm planning to use it for but we'll see how it goes.
I hope you've enjoyed this little quickie stash update :) I will, hopefully, be linking up with Tammy soon enough. I'll be back tomorrow with my Year of Projects update :)

Stash Enhancement: Destash & JoAnn Fabrics
Happy Wednesday :)
I promised a Stash Enhancement post and I'm making good on my promise......mostly. See, I have a skein of Wollmeise Blend that I bought from someone on Ravelry via destashing......but I'll be damned, I can't find it! It's around here somewhere because I squeeeed a lot when it arrived but I must have put it away without photographing it. It'll turn up eventually. Before I'm dead, I hope.
But, I have other ones....
Yarn: Andes from Artfibers
Weight/Yardage: Aran/160 yds each
Colorway(s): Um....I have five of them.
I have a love of most everything from Artfibers and I was quite sad when they closed up their shop in San Francisco. So, I've been snagging up things I like when I find them. I caught these in a destash a couple weeks ago and decided they needed to be mine. So, now they're mine. No idea what I'm going to do with them....I'm pondering a stripey Baby Surprise Jacket but I'm worried I'll run out. I probably wouldn't but I'd still be worried about it. Whatever.
Yarn: Paton's Kroy Socks (top is 4-ply; bottom is FX)
Weight/Yardage: Sock/191 yds each (top) & 166 yds each (bottom)
Colorway(s): I don't know...one is a red/grey dealie and the other is a blue/grey.
At this point I need to admit that I'm just feeding my stash. It's hungry and wants all the yarn! But, in all honesty, after finishing my Vanilla Latte Socks, I realized that I needed some workhorse socks and Kroy is a workhorse yarn. I think I bought the above skeins for something like $6.40/each, which isn't bad when I know that means i'm getting a pair of socks (and then some) for less than $13...I've paid in the neighborhood of $30 for a skein of yarn to make a pair of socks. Soooo, two pairs of socks (and enough leftover to make another couple pairs of baby/kid socks) for $26 is not bad in my world.
If/when I find that skein of Wollmeaise, I'll share....but for now, this is all I have. I expect a club shipment or two soon enough but we'll see :)
Hope you're having a lovely day!
