Year Eight: Self-Imposed Year of Projects - I'm late again because of who I am as a person (Update #9)

Happy Sunday Evening!

Yes, I'm late again because of who I am as a person lately. Or something. But I'm here and let's just get moving already!

1. Age of Brass & Steam: started 10 August 2018; finished 7 January 2019
2. Sockhead for Little Man: started 29 November 2018; finished 25 January 2019

Let's just keep moving, yeah? We don't need to talk about how I've not finished anything lately...

My (rather limited) knitting time this week was taken up by the Cowl for Miss Sylvie. I'm in the middle of the fourth section (of five) and while I've not weighed my yarn yet, I figure I'm not quite halfway through the patterned section...the pattern repeat is 25 rounds, just for reference. Honestly, I haven't worked on anything else. I just haven't had time.

1. Messed Up Moss: started March 2009 - write pattern as PDF (iterations: firstsecond)

OMGLSGWTFBBQ Lists

Challenges (this is new for 2019)
1. Knit 2 granny squares a month (average) until I'm out of yarn (for the Granny Square Blanket in my WIP list above - I started with four cakes, I've finished two and started the third...I bought a fifth, though, for more choices): I am ahead with this challenge as I have finished six squares squares and started the 7th...and that's good because February was a messy month and March is...well, the first half is busy...so, based on my average of two squares per month, I'm into April.
2. Knit 1 dishcloth a month (average): I failed at this for January and February, meaning I need to make three this month to catch up....but we'll see how that goes, right?

This past week has been....well, parts of it were crazy and parts of it were average. Husband was home sick for a few days, I've had auction work to deal with, and my anxiety has been all over the board. Some days, I'm perfectly fine (like today) and other days, I'm a total dysfunctional mess (like yesterday). C'est la vie. Or something.

The big event for this week was the Cub Scout Camping Trip. Unfortunately, the weather was less than cooperative and Husband was sick.....but we still went on Friday and came home Saturday morning. We stayed at a private campground called Sweetwood, which was less than 1/4 mile from the Pacific Ocean. Because the weather was so uncooperative on Friday night/Saturday morning, we decided to head out. Little Man, Stormageddon, and I had already all been exposed to whatever illness Husband had and being outside in the rain for two days probably wasn't the best idea. And it rained. A lot. We had a tent heater, thankfully, but it was still wet and messy.

There were a handful of the Cub Scouts in Little Man's pack. More came on Saturday after we left. We made some dinner (spaghetti and peach cobbler for dessert, followed by s'mores), and bundled up in our tent for the long, rainy night.

The boys were all ridiculously interested in the fire. They kept poking at it. Finally they left it alone and it was able to properly catch and burn. It was also very smokey but I think that's because our wood wasn't dried out enough. It worked, though.

We survived the rainy night:

It was surreal to be camping and able to hear the ocean waves. I think if it hadn't been raining, we would have slept like rocks. It was just a nice, calming background noise.

The rest of the week, though, was mostly normal and crazy. I've had late donations coming in for the auction, which creates more work for me because I have to get them into the online auction, which starts this week. I'll post the link next week, if you're interested in bidding on something :) Like I mentioned before, Husband was home sick for a few days, which just messes with my internal schedule. It's not like him being home is a big deal but it just messes with how my brain operates. It's generally fine, though.

That was honestly about it.

I hope you've had a lovely week and weekend :) I'll try to be more on time next week but don't hold your breath...
