I spent most of my (stress) knitting this week on the Cowl for Miss Sylvie.....I even took some time to weigh my yarn when I was at what I estimated would be my halfway point...and I had more than half the yarn left, which is delightful. It means I should be able, in theory, to just keep on going as if this is the second half and call it good when I'm finished...and be out of yarn (but not before I finish the bind off).
I also did some crocheting on a granny square but that was yesterday and it wasn't a lot.

OMGLSGWTFBBQ Lists
Challenges (this is new for 2019)
1. Knit 2 granny squares a month (average) until I'm out of yarn (for the Granny Square Blanket in my WIP list above - I started with four cakes, I've finished two and started the third...I bought a fifth, though, for more choices): I am ahead with this challenge as I have finished six squares squares and started the 7th...and that's good because February was a messy month and March is...well, the first half is busy...so, based on my average of two squares per month, I'm into April.
2. Knit 1 dishcloth a month (average): I failed at this for January and February, meaning I need to make three this month to catch up....but we'll see how that goes, right? So far, I'm continuing to fail at this one. ::sigh::

Now that Stitches West is over and the auction is next weekend, I'm starting to dream about all the knitting time I'm going to have coming up sooooon. I'm not entirely sure what that's going to look like but I hope it means I'll finish up a few things, clear some needles, and so on and so forth. We'll see how things go but I'm dreaming of knitting a bit more....and that's just lovely.
In regular, normal, everyday life....well, we've had another one of those weeks where I feel like I was super busy but I was super busy doing the same mundane things so while I don't have a lot to actually talk about, know that we were rather busy.
Little Man made some declarations this week. He decided that since he was sorted into Hufflepuff (via Pottermore), his room is now the Hufflepuff Common Room, which is, of course, right next to the kitchens. He declared Stormageddon's room the Gryffindor Common Room (even though we don't know where Stormageddon will be just yet - he's only four years old so we are a few years away from attempting to sort him). Regardless, Little Man made signs for both his and his brother's doors. You'll also see his Bendy & the Ink Machine Demon poster above the Hufflepuff one (it's misspelled but it says "The Demon is Reading").
In addition to that, his new Hufflepuff robes came this week. We basically ordered a Halloween set of robes, which works out just fine for him. The fancy ones from Universal are like $140.....and it's not like he's done growing yet. So, a Halloween costume set are just fine around here.
He's taken to eating breakfast while wearing them. He cannot wear them to school but he's wearing them around the house quite a bit otherwise.
We also had a playdate this week with a couple of friends. The older child is a year behind Little Man, and they were in the preschool together. The younger child is a year younger than Stormageddon. They all played together pretty well, to be honest.
Stormageddon was getting ready to go chasing after the older child in the above photo. I think he was riding in his car or on his rocket car...and Stormageddon wanted to chase. Because of course he did.
Outside of that, I had TWO (yes, that is T-W-O) mommy dates this weekend. Well, to be fair, one was on Friday night and the other was Saturday morning. Friday night, a bunch of moms got together for drinkies, yum yums, and chatting. I knew every name "on paper" though many of them I had never actually met. 'Twas still a lovely time. Saturday morning, three other moms and I went out for brunch. We needed the time away from our children to kvetch, honestly. There were supposed to be six of us but one forgot she had something going on with her oldest child and another has been dealing with a sick kiddo all week. But it was still wonderful to get out and see my mom friends.
Hmmm.....yeah, that's mostly about it. Oh, our pilot friends were here this week. The husband was here on Wednesday night and Thursday night. He, Husband, and Little Man went to see Captain Marvel on Thursday night, which Little Man seemed to enjoy. The wife came on Saturday morning and left just a couple of hours ago. We enjoyed a trip to Ikea because our bed broke. Well, sort of. We have a bed from Ikea and the metal support bar that goes in the middle of the two halves actually cracked on one end and all the wood slats started falling off on one side. So, a trip to Ikea to get a new metal support bar and now the bed is perfectly fine again. It gave us an excuse to vacuum/clean under the bed. We don't have room to move the bed around so the only way we get under it is when something like this happens.
Also, while the wife was here, our roommate in back made us fancy dinner. Little Man kept joining us at the table to show us his Lego creations.
Earlier today, Husband came into the bedroom chuckling (this was just after we had fixed the bed). He said, "Wife Pilot must feel pretty comfortable at our house." I asked why that was.....
She took a nap on the couch with Stormageddon. He was holding onto her foot the whole time, as well.
Yuuuuuup. That happened.
I hope you've had a lovely week and weekend. I'll probably be late next week, as well, since the auction is on Saturday. We shall see how the weekend transpires...

LOL, your Stormageddon is hilarious; I see his smile and know he is a character. Glad you had some GNO's; you work hard. And yay for new Hogwarts students!
