OMGLSGWTFBBQ Lists

Challenges (this is new for 2019)
1. Knit 2 granny squares a month (average) until I'm out of yarn (for the Granny Square Blanket in my WIP list above - I started with four cakes, I've finished two and started the third...I bought a fifth, though, for more choices): I am ahead with this challenge as I have finished six squares squares and started the 7th...and that's good because February was a messy month and March is...well, the first half was busy...so, based on my average of two squares per month, I'm into April. And that's delightful.
2. Knit 1 dishcloth a month (average): I failed at this for January and February, meaning I need to make three this month to catch up....but we'll see how that goes, right? So far, I'm continuing to fail at this one. ::sigh::

I'm not even sure what all has happened over the last ten days aside from the auction. I wish I were joking. Like, I really wish I were joking. I know things happened.....

Okay......there was no school last Monday due to a Professional Development day. So, there was a playdate at one of the parks.

The seagull that's in the air (top right)....well, it was a thief and stole some pizza that wasn't quite in the garbage can. The other two were mad and squawking about it. Could have been worse, I suppose. The kids thought it was hilarious.

Last Tuesday morning, Stormageddon and I saved a couple snails that were hanging out on our sidewalk. The bigger one had some damage but after a few hours, they had both moved out of the pot we put them in for their own safety.

I made banana cream pie on Pi Day, as you do. It didn't have the whip cream on top but we were fine without it...so, really, it was a banana pudding pie with bananas and a graham cracker crust. I actually made another one on Monday because we had the stuff to do it...and why not? Pie is delicious.

Aside from all that, it was all auction, all weekend. I'm still dealing with auction-related stuff. I may have to pull some help in from other sources because there are some refunds that need to happen, which I'm not looking forward to. ::sigh::

I did, however, declare myself prom queen. In my lime green Chucks. And I even had a tiara (on loan from a friend for the night). So, that was delightful.

Unfortunately, the bottom line is that the auction did not do as well this year as anticipated. Like I came in $20K under our projected budget....but everyone had tons of fun so, really, that says more about them than me personally but I can't help but take it personally. I'll know more in the coming weeks, as we figure out everything like partial refunds and all that. But at least that part is over.

We have tried to have some lazy time around here but that's not how I roll....I took five boxes, mostly books, to Goodwill yesterday morning. My book shelves look a lot more bare, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'm trying to shift some things around and get rid of things I'll never read/use or have duplicates or just don't want. I went through a box of recipes my grandmother and great-grandmother had cut out of newspapers. I tossed most of them. I kept many of the hand-written ones but there were plenty that were damaged beyond repair or had faded to the point that I couldn't read them. I hope to get them transcribed and make some sort of book out of them. I hope. We'll see where life brings me.

Beyond that, I'm also starting the job hunt. Stormageddon will be at school half-days in the fall and it's time to start earning my keep around this place. Or something.

Until then, I find things like this:

This was Little Man the other day, lunching with Puppy in a makeshift bed on his floor. I don't know why he's been sleeping on the floor but......yeah. I just have to shake my head and roll with it :)

Anyway, I hope you've had a lovely week and a half and I might be back on Sunday. Hahahahaha. Laugh with me!

  1. What a fun set up Little Man had with Puppy who looks quite content. OMGosh, you look awesome in your prom queen dress and yep, can't go wrong with Chucks, girlfriend! I'm sorry the auction didn't do as well as you would have liked. However, I know you work your ass off on putting it together and if everyone had fun, that's what counts.
