This last week has been.....well, "challenging" isn't the right word. We've all been sick this last week. We all got the stomach bug. It actually started last weekend for me. I wasn't feeling well when Little Man and I were out doing archery with the Cub Scouts on Saturday but I pushed through, positive it was something else.

Nooooope.

Stormageddon started throwing up Sunday night/Monday morning, continued all that day, was mostly done by Tuesday but not 100% until probably Thursday. I was sick most of the week. I'm still not 100%, to be honest. Little Man started throwing up Wednesday. I kept him home on Wednesday & Thursday but he went back to school on Friday. His resulted in a trip to the emergency room because of his metabolic disorder. We were there for 9 hours and got home after midnight (hence why he stayed home on Thursday). Husband was fighting it most of the week but he finally got sick Friday night. He's doing much better today but he's still pretty weak from everything. Hopefully he'll be good in a day or two. This was a rough one.

Because we were sick most of the week, not a whole lot happened. Swimming lessons were cancelled, speech therapy was cancelled, we didn't go anywhere, we didn't do anything. It was not a fun week in our house.

This was the middle of the day on Monday. He was so sleepy and he definitely wasn't feeling well. I actually had to get up in the middle of the night and wash all our sheets and such because, of course, he's still not staying in his own bed at night. ::sigh::

Once he had some fluids, Zofran, and sleep, he was perfectly content to watch videos on the iPad in the ER. ::sigh:: If we hadn't gotten home so late on Wednesday night, I would have sent him to school on Thursday. We wound up at the park late on Thursday, instead.

Friday, we were mostly feeling okay....mostly....well, the boys were. Husband went to work, Little Man went to school, and that was that. But then Husband got sick Friday night. ::sigh::

Friday, on our way home from school, we found this little bug walking along on the sidewalk. It almost looked like a little alligator with a long tail....it was cute and I'm glad the boys and I saw it. No idea what it was, though.

And here we are. It's Sunday afternoon. Little Man and I are still in our jammies. That's about it. Next week......I don't know if I'll post or not. Maybe. Maybe not. Husband and I are leaving on Saturday for a cruise with friends. My father-in-law is flying out on Thursday to watch the boys. It'll be fine. We'll see how things go.

I hope you've had a better week than we have!

  1. So sorry you al caught a bug. It is bad enough when the kids are sick but when mommy is sick at the same time, that is horrible! Hopefully you are all on the mend and will be perfect for your cruise.
