ELEVENTH Self-Imposed Year of Projects - And just like that, they go back to school again! (Update #25)

Wow. It's Monday. Again. We were up at the cabin for the weekend (left on Thursday) and got back yesterday and it was a long afternoon, hence Monday.....so let's gooooooo!

FOs (Finished Objects)
1.
Baby Blanket: started 22 April 2022; finished 4 June 2022
2.
Herbivore: started 15 November 2018; finished June 2022

Okay. It's ridiculous that this shawl took me as long as it did. I started it when I was visiting Wisconsin for my bestie's father's funeral and worked on it here and there but I finally finished it. It's a bit smaller than I anticipated but I'm hoping a good blocking will help. We'll see....when I get around to actually blocking it. ::sigh:: But, in the meantime, here it is in all it's unblocked glory:

15. Baby Blanket: started 4 June 2022

I admittedly didn't do a lot of knitting earlier in the week, other than on the Herbivore Shawl, which you saw above. Because I finished it! But, then there was later in the week and over the weekend.....and, of course, I brought knitting along.

I spent a good amount of time on my Lakeline Tank. I've basically finished up the first ball of yarn and it's around 4" from the cast on, which isn't horrible. I'm in stockinette hell for 16" or so....and of course I'm worried I'm going to run out of yarn. I found a place that does have the color in stock but the dye lot is likely different, which might or might not be okay......I need to find the other skeins first, before I decide whether I need to acquire more yarn. I figure if one ball got me 4", I'll need at least 6 for the whole thing....and I think I bought 7 so I *should* be okay.

I also pulled yarn for a few projects but didn't actually start any of them, which is probably a good thing. I need to remake toys for my sister-in-law's kiddos because they were tossed due to smoke damage (they're listed under the Children's Items section, #5-7). I didn't find the exact yarn that I used for two of them but I think I found something comparable so that's always good. But I didn't actually start anything.

So, I mentioned above that we were away to the cabin over the weekend, which is absolutely true. Husband, his friend, their dog, and the boys went up on Tuesday night and I had the house to myself for a couple days before my friend and I took Puppy up with us on Thursday. It was so quiet in my house and it was delightful. I watched what I wanted, stayed up as late as I wanted, and took time for myself, which I think I sorely needed.

The boys spent time fishing, swimming in the lake, paddleboarding, and being little lake bums. We sat by the fire, ate all the food, and just relaxed for a long weekend. It was all good.

Stormageddon lost another tooth while we were up there. He was very proud of himself (I don't know why - I'm the one that pulled the tooth!) and he's got a toothless grin.

Even Puppy got into the action...sort of. He kind of had to be dragged but once he figured out that he is actually a water dog, he had fun.

We also went out on the boat and the boys did some more fishing. Of course. And there was a turtle (well, several but I actually saw this one).

And fire. Because you don't go up to the cabin in the summer and not have fire. And if you can see, we made pretty fire. We got one of those bags that has some sort of powder inside that makes the flames change colors for an hour or so. So we had green and electric blue and bright red and purple and all sorts of things going on in there. It was fun for me. I don't know about anyone else but I enjoyed it.

With that, I think I'm done babbling. It was a lovely week, for the most part. The boys started summer school today but more about that later. For now, I'm calling it good. I hope you had a lovely week and weekend!
