TWELFTH Self-Imposed Year of Projects - Did I spell that correctly? (Update #5)

I know. It's not Sunday. It's not even Monday. Or Tuesday! You're just going to have to live with it.

Regardless, we're here for the knitting so let's get going.

FOs (Finished Objects)
1.
Josh's Winter Hat: started 20 December 2022; finished 2 January 2022
2.
NEYCO Hat: started 31 December 2022; finished 20 January 2022

I've not finished anything new. I did try on Josh's Winter Hat. It should fit him just fine. It's stretchy and warm. It will fit over any amount of hair he tries to grow, which was kind of the point. But it's not so big that he'll drown in it. So, I think we can call that a win.

16. Kitty at Christmas: started 28 January 2023

I worked on a couple different projects this week. Firstly, the Kitty at Christmas Hat continues to grow. I'm making it with stripes of red and green, as asked for by my client. I've knit one stripe of each and I'm on the second stripe of the first color. So I've got that going for me. I did have to take a break on it as it had an unexpected...bath? of sorts. Stormageddon was trying to open up a container that had a snap-on lid and water went flying all over me, the project, and the couch. Thankfully it was just water...but things needed to dry out a bit.

In addition to working on that, I also pulled out the one lonely pair of socks I have going for Little Man. I'm debating whether I've finished the cuff or not. I think I have but I might count my rounds again. I'm tossed between doing 15 or 20 rounds of ribbing (or more). I think most of mine are usually around 20 rounds but he's smaller than I am (though his feet are bigger).....I'm probably over-thinking this. Unfortunately, I was unable to work on them for as long as I wanted due to my body disagreeing with the cold weather. Again. Translation: my hands are super crazy dry and my thumbs split in a couple places which makes knitting on teeny needles difficult.

I think that's about all I worked on this past week. ::sigh:: Someday I just know I'll get my life together and find time to knit all the things, eat healthy, exercise, and get enough sleep! Oh, and keep a clean and organized house. I just know it's going to happen!

And then she laughed and laughed.

The biggest thing that's happened over the past week? I got a new car. Well, to be fair, we're actually leasing it, but it's new and shiny. Oh, and electric. We didn't trade anything in, either, so we still have my Atlas and Husband's Passat. This one is a Volkswagen ID4, which is akin to a Tiguan but sits a bit lower and is electric.

It's very pretty. And it's a fun little car. We picked it up on Wednesday, which was probably a good thing because the previous Sunday afternoon, this happened:

Yes, that is my Atlas...stuck in the front yard. See, we had all this snow and Husband made a track through the backyard with the tractor, so he could pull the boys on sleds. They had great fun until the tractor got stuck in the mud where they had done digging for the geothermal....so, I took my Atlas back there to pull him out.

And got the Atlas stuck

Little Man got to drive my car while Husband and I pushed. We eventually got it around to the front but we couldn't get it out of the yard without help. So, we got the Atlas out (and the tractor came out later)..and the tires were shot. Totally shot. So it got new tires this week. And an oil change. And a few other random things that needed to happen. The big thing was the tires though.

And then we had a normal but cold week....and then Stormageddon got sent home from school on Friday with a fever. Turns out he wound up getting strep (there were several cases in his class). Thankfully no one else got it but I wound up taking him to urgent care on Friday night and the strep test came back positive. ::sigh:: If it's not one thing it's another.

He's fine now. Truthfully, one does of the amoxicillin and he was fine but we're doing the full course of antibiotics, of course. He fell asleep on the exam table, fully winterized in his boots, snowpants, coat, and mittens. He was also sleeping with his eyes open and snoring like a train. Poor kiddo.

Other than that, the weather has been downright balmy for this time of year. Unfortunately, we're expecting a nasty storm to roll through overnight. So I think I'm going to call this quits and go to bed. I hope you've had a lovely week and weekened and start of the next week :)
