TWELFTH Self-Imposed Year of Projects - I'm sorry, what?! (Update #12)

Oh Sunday, how I've missed you.

We're here to talk about my knitting and life in southern Wisconsin and if that's now what you're here for, you should probably see yourself out because that's what I'm here for.

Josh's Winter Hat: started 20 December 2022; finished 2 January 2022
2.
NEYCO Hat: started 31 December 2022; finished 20 January 2022

Close but not cigar. And I think close only counts in things like horseshoes.

I mostly finished up the first of the Smile & Wave fingerless mitts yesterday. I still have the thumb left and weaving in ends and all that but the majority is finished. And I counted my rows before and after the thumb so I can make the second one the exact same way.

Aside from that, I did very little knitting. I had planned to and I even brought out some projects but I just didn't get around to it. There are worse things, but it still makes me grumpy.

Anyway, moving along....

So, you know how we had the Equinox and the days are getting longer and all that? Right. That's all well and dandy but someone didn't inform Mother Nature that things were on the upswing in the northern hemisphere with regards to the weather. She's been downright awful the past few days. We've had some lovely warm weather (and by "warm" I mean that it was in the mid 50s, which isn't quite shorts weather but you could go around without a coat)....and then the woman went and decided that we should have over a foot of snow dropped on us in about 8 hours. And then warm up enough to get it melting but not quite enough to make it gone. In other words, we woke up to over a foot of snow yesterday morning and without any work, the driveway, sidewalk around the side of the house, and the basketball court have mostly melted.

This was out the window in our bedroom this morning. The snow is probably half as deep as it was when it initially fell but yeah...lots of snow again.

Of course, this is what it looked like the other morning, when we found a few deer in the yard:

It's a bit different now. ::sigh::

In other random events, we played Settlers of Catan yesterday. Husband won, of course. I tried but he stole my Longest Road card, which is how he wound up winning.

Before we got all the snow, Husband and I did some work on the other side of our creek, which resulted in the tractor getting a little stuck. We used the winch to get it out and it was fine. We were over there trying to figure out how much work we were going to need to do to get the path in a non-wet working order buuuuut, it was still a bit too wet. We put down some limestone to see if we could get it to soak up a bit but then we got snow so we don't know how well it worked. If my shoes are any indication, it worked very well, however.

Little Man is not feeling well today. He's been throwing up, which is never a fun time, but he's also been sleeping. I may or may not have snuck a couple of photos of him sleeping on the couch. He 100% passed out.

So, it's Sunday. Tomorrow the boys are officially on Spring Break and I'll be at work. Exciting times, apparently. We'll see how it all goes. I hope you've had a lovely week and weekend.
