TWELFTH Self-Imposed Year of Projects - Day late. Again. ::sigh:: (Update #16)

Work informed me that it was Monday today. And that, of course, means I'm a day late. Again. Yeah.

So, knowing that I don't actually really truly have to make toys for my nieces and nephew because theirs didn't get lost in fire and smoke damage, I'm tossed about what to do with the ones I've got going. I think I might give the bunny to my other nephew (my brother's younger kiddo)...or maybe the whale. I don't know. And I might donate the other one. Our local Knitters Guild collects toys for various charitable donations. We'll see how things wind up. At this rate, I'm not in a hurry to finish either one.

Aside from that, I worked a little bit on the Returning Shawl. I'm still doing the increases and I think I'm just going to go until I run out of yarn, however big it gets.

Oh, and a dishcloth. I've worked on that a little bit, too.

But that's it, I swear!

This past week has had the usual ups and downs. I did manage to go to Purse Bingo with my bestie on Wednesday. Basically, once a month this bar we know of has eight rounds of Bingo and you win fancy purses (Coach, Michael Kors, Kate Spade, that kind of deal). There are also a couple raffles. We have yet to win but one of our other friends we go with won a coupon book for a bunch of drink offers for bars/restaurants in the area. So that was a sweet deal. Plus, it's time with my bestie.

I also got a haircut over the weekend. No photos, mostly because I'm lazy. I had a good 6" cut off, maybe closer to 8". With my shoulder being so angry, brushing my long hair was admittedly a bit difficult. So, it was time.

Stormageddon spent some time working on his Legos. His interest waxes and wanes and apparently he had a bug up his bum because he wanted to work on a bunch of his Lego sets. He finished up this X-Wing (Star Wars) in less than a day. He was working on it when we woke up Saturday morning and was finished by the time we got home from our errands.

Little Man has been being a moody tween lately. He decided he wanted to go to a school social thing on Friday. And then he realized it kind of sucked but he was stuck there until 5:30pm. At least he had his friends with him, but he was less than thrilled about trying new things. I had to laugh. I was kind of the same way, honestly. I do so love that kid. I think I'll keep him.

Also, his hair is getting long and he won't let me take him for a haircut. I don't really care all that much, as long as he takes care of it and has it trimmed once in awhile. I have to keep reminding him that he needs to brush his hair before and after his shower, even if he doesn't wash it. ::sigh:: It'll be fine.

This week, I have an upcoming pre-op doctor appointment. Apparently I'm having surgery in two weeks. I thought I'd had more time but here we are. I'm having a septoplasty, nasal valve repair with butterfly graft and right auricular cartilage harvest. That translates to: we're going to fix my deviated septum on right side and add an internal Breathe Right strip made of cartilage from my right ear. Thankfully, I don't have to have my nose broken and I've never actually broken the bone...the cartilage, on the other hand, is a very different story. I've broken that several times. It'll be fine. My surgery is scheduled for May 11th, which is a Thursday. The plan is that I'm taking Thursday & Friday off that week, staying home over the weekend, and working from home on Monday & Tuesday, possibly more depending on how I'm feeling. We'll see how things go. But that's still a couple weeks out. This week, it's just the pre-op appointment where I find out what all I need to do and not do leading up to surgery.

There isn't much else happening, as far as I know. I feel like I'm forgetting something but so far, not figuring it out.

Oh, I also got to hang out with my favoritest yellow lab for a little while last week. Her mommy wasn't feeling well and they were at the hospital so I went over to let her out for a potty and play for a bit. And then she flopped down by my feet. She's such a silly pretty girl.

Honestly, that's about all that's been going on. I think we're dog-sitting my in-law's golden retriever this week, which will be interesting. She's a good girl, too.

I hope you've had a lovely week and weekend!
