Yeah. Um. Uh. Hi. I clearly cannot be trusted sometimes.

Hi. My name is Renee and while I am a yarn addict, I am also a lot of other things. And right now, the biggest things are tired and forgetful. Soooo....you know how Tour de Fleece is going on right now and I had loose plans to spin? Yeah. No. That's not happening. I have not spun in two weeks. I am very disappointed in myself. I really do enjoy spinning....but I just haven't done it.

The baby blanket continues to grow, albeit slowly. Currently, I'm just working on the 50ish rows before I change colors again. I think that means I've got somewhere around 20 rows finished at this point.

My Star Stitch Shawl is on time out right now to think about what it's done. I went to knitting last night and was working along on it just fine....and then my stitch counts were off when I got to the center so I tinked back and found the mistake, kept on going, and wound up with the other side being off. So I tinked back the entire row. And the row before it. And now I need to tink back another two rows. Thankfully  I only have about 80 sts on the needles right now. I'm still not very happy. So, it's sitting in it's bag to think about what it's done.

Admittedly, that's about all the knitting I've done over the past few weeks. I'm not very fancy apparently. Or I've been ridiculously busy. I don't even know.

Moving on....

The past few weeks have been fairly even and perhaps even boring...but I also feel like I've been busy, which may or may not be a good thing.

I've spent more time than I like at the gym the past few weeks. To be fair, I did sign up for a 6 week challenge, which also means I'm going to the gym at least 3x per week for small group training. And then any other time I want. Right now, I'm not sore like I was but my body is still angry with me about some of what's been going on. That gym business takes up far more time than I anticipated, especially when I'm also working full-time.

In addition to going to the gym, I'm trying to keep up at home, which is not going as well as I would like. Stormageddon's room is a hot mess. I discovered that because Husband and the boys are up at the cabin and I went upstairs to clean up the boys' bathroom (spraying the shower, cleaning the toilet, changing out the garbage)....discovered that it was piled with dirty clothes (jammies and underwear mostly). So, I started cleaning the bathroom and then figured I should start gathering all the boys' dirty laundry......which led to discovering a hot mess in Stormageddon's room and I started cleaning in there, putting things away, throwing things out, boxes for donations (books and outgrown clothes mostly)......and I have not finished. On top of that, there's Little Man's room, which is also a hot mess but in a different way. And then there's the space between the bedrooms, where their computers are set up, and the TV, and the couch...and there is crap everywhere.

I'm not very thrilled about that. I'll get there. It'll be fine.

In addition to that, with the boys gone, I've been binging shows that I want to watch, since it's rare that I actually get to watch something I want to watch. So, I've plowed through the first season of the Umbrella Academy....and started the second season. I hope to get through all of it before the boys come home on Sunday. We'll see. I also watched an episode or two of Enchanted, which is a cartoon done by Matt Groening, of Simpsons and Futurama fame.

I'd like to say there's been a bunch of other things going on but I'd be lying. I did go to the local art fair last weekend. One of my friends was vending and I bought a few things from her that I've been eyeing. And I've been outside picking blackberries. We have blackberry bushes/vines all along the edge of the property and, of course, it all comes ripe at once. And we compete with the birds and other wildlife. But we've picked maybe a couple cups of blackberries. Or, rather, I have....the boys did help before they left with Husband but I definitely went out last night and picked more. And there are still more to be picked. The only unfortunate part is that I have to fight with the wild parsnip, which is pretty brutal if it gets on your skin as it can blister and burn. I bumped some while we were in California last summer and it burned and blistered. It was not a fun time. I still have a faint scar. Do not recommend.

Husband found Legend of Zelda sweatshirts for the boys. The problem is that it only came in one size. So, while it fits Little Man pretty well.....

.....it is entirely too large for Stormageddon.

And then there was the drink Husband handed me about a week and a half ago, on Friday. It's a brandy old fashioned. It needed a bit more sweet but it was still good. He picked up some brandy from Wollersheim Winery, which isn't far from us.

My excitement on Saturday...I was driving home from the art fair (and buying new shoes)....and one of the neighbors cows was in the road. I wish I were kidding. I stopped at the nearest neighbor's house to see if they were his cows. They weren't but he knew which neighbor they belonged to and called them to let them know the cows were loose. Cannot make this up.

Anyway, I hope you had a lovely couple of weeks and so on. I'm going to wander off because I'm due to be at the gym in about 20 minutes. I hope to be back on Sunday, nice and proper.

  1. Sometimes it is so nice to jave the house all to yourself. That is, until you go into a child's bedroom. Lol
